TTC Math for Enhanced Mat Pay

Please can those of you lovely ladies (or men!) that are good with TTC maths help me! I’m a bit rubbish with maths and this is a calculation that my DH and I can’t afford to get wrong!

DH and I are waiting to start TTC our first child until I would be eligible for Enhanced Maternity Pay (EMP) from my employer.

I’m so impatient....I can’t wait to be a mum but we’d be silly not to wait until I’d qualify for the EMP (around 5 months full pay!!!!)

So, I only started at the company on the 30th of May this year.

The EMP rules are that I must have been in continuous employment for one year at the beginning of the 11th week before what would be my expected week of giving birth.

Please help me! I think I’ve worked it out but I just want to be sure as getting this wrong could cost us a fortune when we start TTC.

Thanks everyone!

So you could conceive from around the 13th November. So you would be 29 weeks at the 30th may 2018, which would be 11 weeks before your due date,1 year in continuous employment.
That’s how I’m reading it 🤷🏻‍♀️Did you have similar??

MushroomMushroom · 04/08/2018 19:20

@SnowyAlps yes! Thank you! I had November too. Thanks so much for confirming for me, I just wanted to be sure I had read it correctly!
The wait continues lol!.....

Good luck in the waiting and definitely for when the time comes!!!

Just to chip in, when you are TTC remember that your due date is calculated from the first day of your last period,. Just in case you calculate it by conception or something and end up being a few weeks out ! Lol x

@ReginaPhalange89 that's really good to know...thank you!

(Ps, excellent user name! Lol)
