Your advice please!

I am nearly 40, and have one DS nearly 3 who I conceived very easily at 36. I have subsequently had 3 miscarriages (2 missed, baby dies at c 7 weeks, one early at 5 weeks).

I am on Metformin as have PCOS ad that seems to be helping me conceive very easily but it does look like a recurrent kscarriage problem is developing.

I am lucky enough to have a very good consultant who I know will run all the tests, but I wojuld like to be armed with the suggestion of some more courses of action to try.

IF (as seems most likely) the problem is mainly dodgy eggs, are there any ways of monitoring egg quality before conception?

and can anyione with even a vaguely sinilar experience tell me of their strategies?

Similar thing happened to my friend. Quite a few misscariages, at least 4 maybe more. All she got told was keep trying and eventually she got lucky.
Don't think you can check quality of egg unless its under a microscope but I might be wrong.
If it was me I would want to contact an American specialist and ask what tests etc they'd do there because UK health service, NHS or private is never as thorough as US. My sis is paediatrician in US and she's disgusted by the lack of care over here. That's why she left!
Have you heard of blighted ovums? It may be that was what you had. They are just a blast of cells, not actually a baby. Extremely common. Always fall away like a 'miscarriage' by 12 weeks latest.

I had 2 missed m/c 6 months apart at the age of 42 but then had DD (who is now 11 weeks) at the age of 43. We had no tests or anything and conceived DD the only time we had sex in a 3 month period while we were trying to decide whether to TTC or not

FWIW we used no contraception at all from my 40th birthday onwards and didn't conceive for over 2 years, then had 3 pgs in the space of 12 months.
