Am I broken?

Tracked my BBT every single day and OPKs since CD14. No ovulation.

Should I be booking myself a doctor's appointment?

Hey Amy, I don’t think you are broken 😊 do you normally have regular cycles? I’m afraid I don’t know the answer as my body and cycles are completely messed up but if it gives you peace of mind why don’t you give the docs a call, guess it’s always helpful getting their advice when we are on this journey. Hope you are ok x

Hey @AmyRhodes, how are you getting on? Anything yet?

TeaAndNoSympathy · 04/08/2018 05:56

Could you have ovulated earlier? When I was TTC, I usually ovulated on CD 11 or 12.

AmyRhodes · 04/08/2018 08:40

Hi @K0013 @CookieWaffle @TeaAndNoSympathy

No nothing yet. If anything a little bit of unusual bleeding after sex.

I'm now on CD27 and actually haven't bothered with OPKs for the last few days, as it was really getting me down.

I'm always very regular with a 30 day cycle.

I know CD14 is perhaps late to start using the OPKs @TeaAndNoSympathy , but I've tracked my BBT religiously all month and there's been no spike and dip.

Really really confused.

Don't know why so much of my message is bold - sorry!

Here's my NC month. All negative OPKs and the red fertile window looks massive because the app is unable to pin down ovulation.

@AmyRhodes I feel your pain. I usually ovulate around CD 20 with 31 day cycles but this month I've ovulated CD39! No idea why this cycle is so long. I started using OPKs from CD12 and I was getting so down with the negatives so I stopped using them. My BBT has confirmed my ovulation at CD39. So hang on in there and keep tracking BBT!

OrcinusOrca · 04/08/2018 09:08

I think it's quite normal to get an occasional anovulatory cycle, I wouldn't worry too much. I wasn't charting or using OPKs but I had a couple of 40+ day cycles recently.

CookieWaffle · 04/08/2018 09:47

Have you got your BBT chart? Maybe try again next month with the OPKs from the start and if no joy see if your doc will do a blood test for ovulation. (day 21 test)

AmyRhodes · 04/08/2018 14:29

Thanks ladies. I really appreciate all the replies.

Here's my BBT chart. I'm actually on holiday at the moment with an 8 hour time difference so I've struggled to temp and it's 40 bloody degrees! So the last few days are likely to be inaccurate.

I know I sound gloomy but since it's my first proper cycle tracking I don't feel like I'm having the "occasional anovulatory cycle".

I don't know. I'll get this holiday and this period out of the way and decide if I want to track next month carefully or completely go off piste.

Sorry - here's my BBT chart:

So from your BBT it kinda does looks like you ovulated around CD14-15. But might not be so accurate with the time difference. However someone mentioned in another thread about its possible to not ovulate due to the weather. I'd say give it another go next month and be sure to test the OPKs in the afternoon if you weren't already. Enjoy your holiday anyway! xx

AmyRhodes · 04/08/2018 14:56

Thanks @CookieWaffle

I suppose I need to stop obsessing. My app didn't pick up ovulation, but these things do happen.

I worry a lot because I'm 32, a smoker, my boyfriend is diabetic and I'm a worrier! I know I can take more steps to improve my chances -like ditching the fags- but I've seen what it's done to my friends when they've obsessed about conception.

Each month is a new month! X

High heat can suppress ovulation as someone said above. Sounds to me like that’s what’s happened!

OrcinusOrca · 04/08/2018 20:01

Given what you've said about holiday etc I wouldn't be surprised if that's messed up your temping accuracy or even your body clock potentially. Hopefully things will settle down by next cycle for you.
