Downregging whilst injecting Buserelin

Hi all,

I understand that down regulating your cycle aims to switch off the hormones that release the egg from your ovaries. Most women seem to start the injections on day 21 of their cycle, but I have read some women still get pregnant even when injecting?

If you've been injecting Buserelin injections for a good few weeks, surely that would more or less stop you ovulating?

When the clinic checks the thickness of your Uterus lining, would they know if you had ovulated?

I've had IVF twice now to become a surrogate, using donor eggs. The first time my body reacted well to the buserelin and I successfully down regulated. This time around we tried two cycles with buserelin, but my body continued to ovulate.

My initial scans after injecting the buserelin was to check my ovaries were quiet, and that my lining was below a certain measurement. That scan would always take be done before any ovulation had taken place, so unless you happened to ov very early on, then it's doubtful they would see anyone post ov.
