So baby #1 was unplanned , I was on the pill!
Baby #2 was planned, fell pregnant first month trying !
Baby #3 , we haven't started trying yet.... What are the chances it'll be quick again ? Has anyone else fallen pregnant quickly more than once ? I feel like it's going to take forever this time because we were so lucky before

1st was unplanned, trying for 2nd worked first try but early m/c, took 3mths after that, then 3rd was first try. Then had ivf to become a host surrogate which worked first time, now doing that again and will find out later today if we've had another successful first round!

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/08/2018 08:00

Thanks all!

It's quite scary how many people have said they've had a first baby easily and then had a mc second time round. I know I'm so lucky to have had 2 babies with no issues at all! Just hope it happens for us a 3rd time

I was told it’s quite common to have losses if you conceive easily. Seems to be it either takes a while to get pregnant, or you get pregnant quickly but not all of them are successful.

dragonmummy17 · 02/08/2018 08:22

@8DaysAWeek looks like we are on the same journey!

8DaysAWeek · 02/08/2018 08:25

I noticed that too @dragonmummy17 ! Fingers crossed for cycle 5 eh??

2ManySweets · 02/08/2018 08:29

Don’t worry @ReginaPHalange89

I conceived #1 without really trying and then got pregnant again first time out but sadly lost that one. #2 appeared on cycle 3 of ttc, conceived on my wedding night Grin

I am in the exact same position as you; I really want a summer 2019 baby to “space” birthdays but I’m in a quandary as to whether to keep my legs shut until September lest I get lucky first time or wake up to the fact I’m 38 and get on with it whatever.

Re miscarriages though; it’s a risk with every pregnancy, just glide like a swan and stay chill. You can’t fret about it, and good luck x

Pregnant from very first 'attempt' with first and 'it was only one time' without condom with the second. I've joked about pimping DH out as a one man sperm bank...

LadysFingers · 02/08/2018 08:30

Ds - first time
4 miscarriages around 10 - 12 weeks - all first time
3 early pregnancy losses - all first time
Twins by IVF - first time

My mother also had two DC - first time

dragonmummy17 · 02/08/2018 08:46

@8DaysAWeek here's hoping for both of us

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/08/2018 09:09

@2manysweets aw fingers crossed for you! It's hard to say oh we will skip this month because once you know you're going to TTC you just want to get on with it !

If you do wait til September we could end up both pregnant at the same time :) although I reckon he's going to try and make me give September a miss too lol .

Hello, this is my first month trying and I did a test this morning. I was actually about to post to ask about pics as one of the cross lines in very faint compared to the horizontal. Does anyone know if that I still a positive? I wanted to upload but don’t know how!

SnowyAlps · 02/08/2018 09:18

Click the paper clip picture and add the photo

SnowyAlps · 02/08/2018 09:19

Although I believe that it means it is a positive! Regardless of the strength of lines Smile

Hideandgo · 02/08/2018 09:20

First 3 were 1st month trying. 4th I was actively trying NOT to get pregnant.

SnowyAlps · 02/08/2018 09:23

Opps I came on to add mine:-

1st- unplanned
A loss whilst on the mini pill and breast feeding
Then several early losses whilst on the combined pill
2nd- conceived 3 days after having my coil removed- the only time we'd had sex in that period

I've been told I'm extremely fertile (whatever that actually means🤷🏻‍♀️)

userabcname · 02/08/2018 09:36

Interesting thread. I fell pregnant with DS the first month of trying but had been off birth control for a year and periods had returned to their natural, regular cycle. I'm now ttc number 2. Had the implant out last month and AF showed up on Saturday. Hoping we are now back on track and will conceive in the next couple of months!

jaychops · 02/08/2018 09:46

DD1 first try age 28.

Now 23 week pregnant with DC2, took 8 months this time age 30.

AWhistlingWoman · 02/08/2018 09:53

First try - twins
15 months ttc - DC3
First try - DC4!

So, it’s anyone’s guess Grin

LittleDoveMum · 02/08/2018 11:17

Hello, I don’t seem to have a paper clip option just smiley options and italics, preview and post!! So annoying as would really value people’s view. Smile

LittleDoveMum · 02/08/2018 11:26

Oh I can't update with a picture because I am new, I have to wait 48 hours ☹️☹️☹️.

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/08/2018 12:07

@littledovemum I believe any lines are a positive even if one is more faint ! If you can't attach to this thread could you make a separate post ? I'm sure it will be positive though if there are lines in both windows !

OP posts:
LittleDoveMum · 02/08/2018 14:19

@ReginaPhalange89 it says I can't because I have to have joined for 48 hours (annoying!) it's a clearblue with the one shape where you get a cross sign of positive. There is definitely a faint vertical line so must be. I'll check again in a few days to be sure! I'm not sure if you can get a faint line and not be?

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/08/2018 14:36

@littledovemum no it would be no lines at all if it was negative. I'm guessing you are pregnant , just super early ? Test again in a day or two and it should be much clearer. The clear blue ones aren't the best to use if it's early, you're better with pink dye tests, first response is the best if you're testing early !

Wow you got him to wear a condom on honeymoon, mine didn't want to wear one even when we'd just got together lol!

sugarslug · 01/07/2022 21:06

It happened me on both my pregnancies. Literally the first time we tried. It's something I've never really thought about in terms of how lucky we were until I have several friends who have been trying ages / can't have children. It makes me sad that some people try for so long and yet there are many people that get pregnant at the drop of a hat and shouldn't have them. X
