Still breastfeeding my 9mo and haven’t had a period yet. Had unprotected sex two weeks ago & am confused when I should take a test? As the box says on the first day of your missed period. I took one this morning & it was negative. Any advice?

If the sex coincided with ovulation, a positive would show now on a sensitive test. Wait a week and test again just to rule it out totally, but if you're BF and no periods yet it's fairly unlikely. That said, unless you are happy with another baby soon, do use contraception consistently.

Until your period returns it’s unlikely that you’re ovulating !

You would ov generally 9-17 days before af shows up. So you can get pregnant without a period. But a period also helps you figure out when you will ovulate (if you're regular).

You have to ovulate to become pregnant without ivf.
