when to start TTC after having copper coil out?

had my copper coil taken out today, we are not in a rush, we are just going to stop trying not to be pregnant and see what happens. We are very excited though. If anyone else had a copper coil removed, when did you start having a go at TTC? did you wait a cycle or just a few days? I have some minor cramping, so will not be TTC for a couple days at least, but just wondering how long everyone else waited and how successful you were. we are 32 and 35 so not getting any younger but not too old either. So not panicked Smile

I had a copper coil out in March 2017... had normal cycles straight away (28/29 days, fairly light periods lasting 4 days) following light cramping for a few days after removal (CD5)
Conceived after starting TTC in May in August / Sept which was chemical, conceived again in November but lost him at 24 weeks.

Bottom line is that with a copper, your fertility returns straight away and your cycle should remain the same as it isnt hormonal. Good luck!

I had my copper coil taken out in April at the same time as having polyps removed. Started TTC in May and got my BFP today! My periods have been much shorter and lighter since it was removed, now only around two days long, was worried about that but didn’t seem to make a diff. Had the coil for 5 years.

Had my coil out and conceived 3 days later.

Sorry OP I've never had the copper coil so got zero advice Grin

Just wanted to say to try and stay relaxed and enjoy the whole process of TTC. I'm very lucky to have my 3 month old, and I remember all too well that feeling of deciding to stop using contraception and the excitement that goes with it Smile hope you get your BFP soon.

I had my coil out mid cycle and got pregnant immediately. That’s why I loved my copper coil, no hormones so you are fertile again immediately.

Hey :) I had mine taken out and started trying straight away. Had cramps for a couple of days and have found my periods much better since! Shorter, lighter, and less often. My cycle has increased from 21 days to 28/29! We missed ovulation the first cycle and am now 7dpo on the second cycle since removal. I had the coil removed around ovulation so although it’s my 3rd month since having it removed, it’s really only my first cycle trying Smile Good luck!

I'm having mine taken out tomorrow too Smile but we're going to wait and start trying late September/October as we want to try and miss May/June due date.

sending baby dust your way, good luck !

I had my copper coil removed on June 20th and my cycle changed, my period came rly late (on CD 42) and it was SO painful. I decided to start using ovulation tests about 9 days later and got a positive on Monday! So I'm hoping my cycles are back to normal now... and also hoping I'm preggo! Just have to wait a couple weeks to start testing.... why don't you buy an OPK and start testing? Also how old are you? Asking because I've read that depending on age you could get preg easier and quicker after your IUD removal.. I'm 25 so hoping this is true crossing everything!
