CD21: no sign of ovulation!

Hello!

My cycles are always spot on 30 days.

Been TTC for 4 cycles, but only temping properly and OPKing for this cycle.

My Natural Cycles tracker thought I should ovulate tomorrow on CD22, which is late enough as it is but here I am on CD21 and my BBT shows no signs of an LH surge. Been OPKing for over a week and there's not even a trace of a line.

Even my app is now admitting it's confused!

What's going on?!

I think it's fairly normal to have the odd irregular or non-ovulatary cycle. I had a similar experience to you this month - usually ov 15-17 but had no sign on my opks. Kept testing and then boom day 23 there it was! Get some cheapies in and just keep on trying. Good luck.

I think it's worrying me more because it's my first cycle tracking properly and it's not happening.

Got my internet cheapies and will keep going....

Did you use the OPK's from day 10 onwards? You might have ovulated earlier than you think you have. Is there any temp changes?

AmyRhodes · 29/07/2018 12:03

Thanks for replying @sunshine1987

I've been OPKing since day 14, because I usually ovulate (or at least I thought I did) around day 16.

I wonder if I just missed it?

Will an anovulatory cycle be followed by a normal period? I'm quite new to this so I really don't know what to look out for now! X

@AmyRhodes you'll get a period but might be shorter/lighter than previous if it is an anovulatory cycle. If it's your first month using NC it might be it just doesn't have enough information to work out when you ovulated yet. For the first few months using the app I thought I wasn't ovulating either but turned out by the end of the cycle the app works it out on the months data rather than at the time of actual ovulation. I have 28-30 day cycles but always have 11 days between ovulation and period (lutheal phase). NC works on the average of 14 days which meant I ovulated later than it always thought I should x

@AmyRhodes once it starts to get more data over the months/OPK's it becomes more accurate to your individual cycle. I use another app alongside though to monitor curvical mucus with the OPK's/temp just to be doubly sure x

Thanks sunshine.

I've been using NC for several months, but this is the first month I've made sure to temp every single day and the first time I've used OPKs.

I'm worried now that I'm always having anovulatory cycles - my periods have become shorter since my coil was removed.

I might carry on with OPKs but only for the next cycle, because I've been quite relaxed until now.

@AmyRhodes I know it's difficult but try not to stress. I always did OPK's from day 10 then when the lines were getting darker I would test a couple of times a day and would find my surge that way. Keeping everything crossed for you x
