Short Luteal Phase+Conception

Hi.. I'm new here, and to posting in threads and mom talk. I've been avoiding joining any TTC boards because I see a lot of people get their hopes up and/ or symptom spot like crazy and I didn't want to be that person and just get let down each month. But, I'm on my fifth cycle of TTC, and second cycle using an OPK and I have some questions.

Last month my OPK showed I ovulated on day 15, and then my period started right on time, day 25 (my cycles are typically 25-28 days). Today I am on day 18 and my OPK predicted showed ovulation on day 16. I'm worried that with such a short luteal phase that I won't be able to conceive. Anyone have any insights or experience with this?

I'm no expert but I have always had short cycles between 21-26 days and have a luteal phase of I think 9 or 10 days and had no problems conceiving twice (one unplanned, one conceived on cycle 2 of TTC).

Generally your luteal phase doesn't change much but from period to ovulation can. You could still have 10 day LP but as PP said many woman have conceived with LPs of 8/9 days. I took vitamin B6 for 3 months it lengthened my luteal phase by one day each month 10 11 12. I stopped it this month and coincidently got my bfp even ovulating late on cd21!!

Hi, we've been ttc for 25 cycles and had a failed ivf in that time. I have a short luteal phase (9 days) and we had just decided not to try anymore as it's been so stressful

Yesterday I realised I was a week late and I got my BFP. I am still in shock! It can happen.

I did acupuncture, reflexology, B6, evening primrose oil, meditation. The lot. You name it I tried it

Good luck xx

I'm another one with a luteal phase around 9-10 days. I conceived DD on cycle 4 no problems. I'd started taking B6 that cycle but that's probably just coincidental. Don't worry, just keep at it!
