Cheap home OPK sticks

Hi

Currently using flo app on my phone and dates when I should have ovulated have been and gone I've been using cheap home opk sticks and didn't get a second line of any kind at all during the flo predicted time. I've kept testing and the last couple of days I've been getting a faint second line which i think is getting darker. Does this mean anything at all? I've read that unless it's completely the same as the test line it means nothing

I'm confused, it's not that far from my period being due so does that mean i have not ovulated this month!?

Thanks

@ttcat32 I'd say nearly but not quite.
I'd check again tomorrow but I'm no expert, not managed to get a positive OPK yet.

ttcat32 · 14/08/2018 20:08

Thanks @MsHopey it's the first time I've managed to get any sort of line, I drink loads so can't hold my wee long enough 😂😂x

MsHopey · 14/08/2018 20:14

I know. It kills me to drink, stop drinking, wait 4 hours, blah blah blah. And then get a bloody negative Angry

ttcat32 · 14/08/2018 20:20

@MsHopey I managed to hold it for an hour 😂 starting to think I might try in the morning now, I know we're not supposed to but what else can we do🤷‍♀️

MsHopey · 15/08/2018 12:42

CD11 was my first OPK of this cycle and has been the only second line I've had all cycle.
On CD15 now and still no second line at all. My cycles are normally 28 days long but still adjusting from having the implant removed. So I really don't know what's going on with my body.

That's so frustrating that your periods just came back 😕 but it's really good they have so now you can start tracking and getting ready to TTC

I had my implant out on 4th of may and had a period pretty much straight away - 5 days later, although having said that, they've been a bit all over the place since varying from 19 days cycle right up to 28.

That's what's got me thinking I might just be having a short cycle and missed OPK closer to my ovulation. So i got a second line on CD11, which means it could have been a positive a day or 2 before if I'd actually checked Sad but I didn't. So now I'm basically guessing.
Definitely doesn't look like I'm going to ovulate any time soon.
I saw this and thought maybe ovulated on CD9 is a possibility.

ttcat32 · 15/08/2018 14:24

Don't give up hope @MsHopey you may still have caught it! Or maybe just not concentrated enough wee on the15th? I think I'm going to change to the clear blue advanced ones if no luck this month, would rather get it done in the morning rather than spend half my afternoon with my legs crossed x

minnierose3 · 15/08/2018 15:28

I think they advise doing it about the same time each day x

OP posts:
MsHopey · 15/08/2018 15:48

I do it at 11am each day.
I have my first morning wee. Wait 4 hours without drinking much/if anything, then do the OPK. It's what i find easiest. I only do one a day and have heard some people say the afternoon is better if you're only doing one.

minnierose3 · 16/08/2018 08:29

I'm like you @mshopey normally test at 11am each day but took this last night (after a run so drank loads of water!) at about 10pm and another positive! Not sure if that's accurate?? But think maybe they do work after all maybe it's taken me a few months to get back to 'normal' after implant removal xx

So 2 big positives 2 days in a row. That does sound good, was it CD11 yesterday then? I've heard some peoples LH surge lasts longer and they'll have a few days if positives. Some people get a positive for 3 hours and then it's gone. At least a longer LH surge means you're more likely to catch it on a test.
I'm still testing every day but haven't had anything in the second window for 4 days.
Just a darkish line on CD11, a faint line on CD12, and no line at all since xx

minnierose3 · 16/08/2018 09:33

Might be worth trying the clear blue fertility thing, I haven't got one but have heard they are really good. Do you have any children already?

OP posts:
MsHopey · 16/08/2018 10:29

I have one DS. He turned one last week. I only want 2 children but close in age would be ideal for me. So want it to happen sooner rather than later but I do realise I'm lick to have one already.
I am using ones I got from home bargains at the moment. 5 for £3. So not clear blue but definitely not the internet cheapies xx

minnierose3 · 16/08/2018 11:09

Ah yes a close age gap is lovely @mshopey, well it is my opinion anyway! I have 2 DCs less than 2 years apart, they are best of friends (mainly) it's lovely. Good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you. Feeling quite broody at the moment though and trying to weigh up whether we should go for #3 - heart says yes head says no!!! Xx

OP posts:
MsHopey · 16/08/2018 11:22

I know what you mean. Lots of pros and cons. But since DS was a few months old I've been sure I wanted another one. I know if I didn't at least try I'd regret it, so I got the implant out and I was really hoping I'd already be pregnant now.
It only took 4 cycles to get DS, and all went pretty smoothly after that, so I know I've been lucky with him. I'm hoping I have the same luck with number 2
But I'm super impatient and as soon as I had the implant out I wanted my positive pregnancy test.

MsHopey · 16/08/2018 14:43

Still nothing. Definitely think I ovulated on CD9 or CD10 from looking at my ovulation test on CD11. No lines at all and thinking it unlikely that I'm suddenly going to get another positive between now and next week xx

@MsHopey so does that mean you are officially in the TWW? Keeping 🤞 for you x

MsHopey · 17/08/2018 06:17

@ttcat32 I'm going to say I am.
🤞🏻for everyone.
It's probably going to go faster than I expected because I've spent nearly the whole first week trying to be sure I'm in the tww 😂 but I think I am.
Period is due around the 29th, maybe a bit earlier. I think I ovulated sooner than all my apps were guessing, which is obviously why we all do the OPKS. I don't think I'm lucky enough to have caught it this month, but we've been DTD, so there's always a chance.

minnierose3 · 17/08/2018 07:25

I ovulated much earlier than my app predicted so you never know! Good luck xx

ttcat32 · 17/08/2018 08:51

@MsHopey keeping everything 🤞 for you how exciting 😊

I don't trust the apps I have 2 and they both give me a different date. Have this week developed a hatred for the opks also as got 2 almost positive but no other symptoms of OV then back to nothing! Starting to think I may have a tww for OV also 😂 x

MsHopey · 17/08/2018 09:01

@minnierose3 it was your post that made me think ovulated on CD9 or 10 was possible, everyone else is saying it's unlikely. But obviously it depends on cycle length and lost of other stuff. I've also been reading lots of contradicting stuff about if CD1 is the first proper heavy day, or it's the day or 2 before that where I'm a super light flow or spotting, which would mess up my tracking.

@ttcat32 it's exciting and nerve wracking. It would be so much better if it happened do one rather than later. I hate the worrying and the waiting.
Thank you 😁

Hi

Can anybody tell me if the middle OPK is positive? As they seem to be getting lighter now...Hmm

Thanks Smile
