I'd wait until after the appointment.
If you have had the appointment and they didn't need to do any intervention/biopsy /follow up, then have unprotected sex after.

Nothing to do with them examining you and you having sperm around your cervix. Just there would be some uncertainty.

I had a colposcopy a few years ago and if I remember correctly (although things may have changed since then) they said not to have sex for a day or two before and for at least a week afterwards!

A colposcopy is basically a biopsy - they will be taking a tiny bit of your cervix away for testing. If you had a small bit of flesh from your arm taken away would you want your partner, excuse the phrase but ‘spunking’ on the wound? The same applies here.

I just looked on the NHS website and, although they didn’t give a time limit as I was given by my doctor/nurse, it says if there’s bleeding you need to wait until after the bleeding has stopped before you can have sex. I didn’t have any bleeding though so you may be ok if you don’t?

I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s up to you really and how you are feeling. I know it’s especially hard though as you’re ttc.

Sending you lots of baby dust and I also hope the procedure goes well and the results come back fine. Flowers

I had lletz treatment a few years ago and my smear came back normal this time but positive for hpv so asked me to come in for a closer look. Appointment was for 2 months after, when I had it for cin2 that appointment was within 2 weeks so hopefully all is ok. X
