Flo vs Ovia... help?!!

New to this!

I have been using Flo for the past 12 months to track my periods - fab results and has been very accurate in helping to predict my sometimes irregular cycles.

My DH got married two weeks ago and we are tentatively ttc. A friend suggested using Ovia so I downloaded too - spent a good few hours inputting all the information from Flo into Ovia however am now really confused as both apps are showing different info with regards to when my fw is and when I will be ovulating.

Can anyone recommend the best app to use? Would appreciate any help Grin

Ive found the same. I've put in 6 months worth of data from Flo to Ovia and my fertile period is different. Flo has it earlier, Ovia later.
First month ttc so we're being relaxed about it but it did make me wonder.

Are you using OPK's or BBT too? Flo was wrong for me, said I ovulated much earlier than I actually was

earlybirdhasanap · 26/07/2018 19:56

Oh no! I've been going off Flo. I was trying not to get caught up in opks etc and just have a vague idea when I'm fertile but now I'm super broody.
My dd took a while to conceive (although I had miscarriages so it was more staying pregnant that took the time not getting pregnant).

sunshine1987 · 26/07/2018 20:23

@earlybirdhasanap sorry, it might just be me though but just incase. It was only when I started using OPK's that I realised I had been doing it all wrong lol

I have also just switched from Flo to Ovia. I found that when I changed my cycle to 33 days instead of 28, Flo didn't estimate my dates correctly, I've only just swapped to Ovia but the dates seem a little more accurate. I'm going to keep going with both for a bit to see which one works the best!

Clue is really good. Its free, or st least it was a while ago. It predicted my fertile days accurately, even though my cycle can vary a few days each time. You can also put in any positive ovulation tests, and takes it into account. That's how I knew it was spot on with the ovulation dates.

Sending you baby dust Bear

Used Flo for a while but I suspect it never got my ovulation dates right, so we kept missing my fertile window. First month with Clue and managed to conceive.

I'm on baby number 2 now after using Ovia and opk's. Fell pregnant within 3 months for both so it must be fairly accurate x

@earlybirdhasanap - snap, we are v relaxed and is our first month but really made me wonder.

Haven't used any OPKs yet as is our first month and we have said we'd like to just see what happens for the first few months.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that Flo is predicting a little early with. Saying that I did have EWCM on the day before, of and after Flo predicted ovulation and not at all on the Ovia dates.

@BadassUnicorn - thank you, I may download Clue today too then

Yeah I really rate clue, ties up with the data I input into natural cycles too. Fertility friend is also good. I need to step away form the apps lol.....

harrydoesntmind · 27/07/2018 11:49

@sunshine1987 another vote for Clue, I have downloaded... thank you Grin

I use Natural Cycles. It relies heavily on BBT so I've found it can be more reliable detecting my late ovulation in comparison to Flo and Ovia.

Also, days that Ovia describes as 6 or 7 out of 10 for fertility are described as "Low fertility" or "Fertility unlikely" on Natural Cycles, which has really helped manage my expectations and keep me sane!
