Pregnant after MMC, when will I believe it?

I have irregular cycles and had a MMC at 12 (stopped at 6) in March. That was my second pregnancy in 5 years of ttc.
Today I got a positive, 2 days 'late' according to my current app. Feeling very much like I can't get excited for at least a few weeks. Don't really have a question. Just musing and interested how others dealt with similar.

Only really believed when dc2 was in cot next to me...even now 10 months later I still have moments of 🤯.
Dc1 took five years of txt and 4 miscarriages, 11 further miscarriages, told would never again carry to term. Dc2 is 11 years younger than dc1, but is defo a miracle baby.
Am so pleased for you and sending Thanks. I had a different feeling with dc2, that this pregnancy would just 'stick' and no matter how ill I was (and I was in a really really bad way) all would be ok.

Congratulations. Like the pp I also only really believed it the moment I heard DD’s first cry in the operating theatre!

Pregnancy after miscarriage is tough, I had particular anxiety around scans as my first pregnancy was a mmc. I had an early scan at my way at 7+5 and saw the hb which reassured me for about 48hrs. The anxiety lessened as the pregnancy progressed and by my 20 week scan I kind of started to believe that I might have a baby and told more people.

All you can do is take it a day at a time. The first trimester is the toughest. Best of luck. Flowers

Thanks for your replies ladies. I'm trying to decide what to do. EPU said I could have a reassurance scan when I next got pregnant, but it's a bit unclear how pregnant I actually am. LMP was 13 June and my cycle averages at 39 days, but with a lot of variation (I don't think I ovulate every cycle). We go away for 2 weeks on 15 August and the only suitable day I could go to EPU without my toddler is the 8th. Conflicted as this may be too early to be reassuring.
