TTC 13 months

Hi, we've been TTC for 13 months now with no joy. I waited a year before going to the doctors which seemed to be the general advise online. The doctor I saw last month basically told me that you have to have been trying for 18 months before they will do any fertility testing. She basically asked me a few questions and said that there was nothing she could do. Has any one else had a similar experience, I feel really upset and disheartened about it. I'm 32 and don't have any children and I don't want to just wait and wait if there might be something wrong. Any advise much appreciated x

sorry to hear she wasn't very understanding... have you got a different gp you could see? i was 31 when i had my first and we were trying about 6 months. this time it took us about 2 years and we were beginning to get used to the idea that we wouldn't have another. as hard as it is try not to obsess over it, I was obsessed and the pressure was too much. when I accepted there wouldn't be another we got a surprise. I would definately seek another opinion regarding how long you try before they refer you.... big hugs... x x
