Chemical pregnancy - when will i miscarry?

After the excitement of a BFP at the weekend a blood test yesterday showed only negligible HCG and nurse advised it's almost certainly a chemical pregnancy.

Felt period cramping for about a week but no sign of AF.

I would be 5 weeks tomorrow. Anyone know when I can expect the bleed to happen?

Feeling in a weird kind of limbo.

Sorry you're in limbo. Tbh, I wouldn't assume that the pregnancy isnt' going to progress at this stage, it may be that you implanted later than you thought. I don't want to give you false hope, but you never know.

As for when you'll start bleeding, if it is a chemical, everyone is different. If you haven't started bleeding in another few days I'd go back to your GP/epu and ask for another blood test to see if your levels have risen at all.

Hope you get a definitive answer one way or the other soon, being in limbo is very difficult.

Sorry to hear about your CP, just had one myself and I've been all over the place this week. it came as a heavier AF about 2-3 days after my AF was due but the cramps have lasted way longer than expected, been over a week at least. Spoke to the doc yesterday who suggested they will die down over the next few days but to call back if they didn't. I hope it comes soon to put your mind at ease.

Thanks both, and sorry to hear you've been through this too Cookie - the nurse was kind yesterday and told me often people get pregnant the month after a CP.

I'm glad I had the blood test so I'm prepared.

I did another home test this morning and it was negative so pretty certain it's a CP but if no AF by Friday I'll try and book another blood test.

Thanks that's good to hear! I'm feeling quite positive about it at the moment, even though I feel like I've been through a really tough abs workout! I'm glad I know it can be possible, best of luck to both of us for next month xx

It took a week or two for the bleeding to start in my case. And it was very light with the occasional heavier moment but went on for 3-4 weeks. Fingers crossed that that may not be the same outcome for you.

It did seem to 'kickstart' my fertility however as I quickly became pregnant again afterwards having struggled for quite some time.

Sorry to hear that @daimbars and hopefully it will happen soon so you can get it over with. Not a CP, but my first pregnancy ended in early miscarriage at about 6weeks- awful bleeding and cramps for 4 days and that was it. I’d read somewhere that you can be extra fertile straight after a CP/early mc so started trying again as soon as the bleeding stopped and got my BFP 2 weeks later so must have ovulated again almost straight away. Don’t lose hope, and fingers crossed for you next month! 🤞🏻

Hey @daimbars how are you doing? xx
