Late luteal phase

Does anyone know anything about the late luteal phase, I've googled it but I don't really understand it, in into day 50 now apparently I've no idea what this means🙃🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought luteal phase is generally 14 days though, give or take, and will never go much over. It’s ovulation that can be delayed, extending your follicular phase, but not luteal.
When do you think you ovulated?

I was told by the doctors it'd from the last day of your period my last one was back in may 😩

But why do you think you’re in your luteal phase?

You’re either pregnant, haven’t ovulated yet or ovulated in the last two weeks. These should be the only options.

Luteal Phase begins day after you ovulate

I have very very irregular periods, been going doctors for a few weeks now to find out why this is, the doctor I seen said I'm about 50 days into this, I've no idea what it means but I've another appointment on Friday for further tests

That would be a 50 day cycle not a 50 day luteal phase. You can ovulate any time really from the end of your last period, they guess at 14 days but that’s for people with perfect 28 day cycles. Then once you’ve ovulated you’re in the luteal phase - which people call the two week wait. The LP doesn’t ever really lengthen, but the wait to ovulate can.

So my last period was at the end of May, which was nearly 2 months ago, been tested for pregnancy I'm not, I don't really under what's going on, I've another appointment on Friday for the doctors and hopefully they'll refer me to the hospital for scans
