Clomid referral

My GP is referring me for clomid. I had a blood test ages ago (although I need another as apparently it's out of date) and a scan and apparently everything's fine, but I've only had one period in a year off contraception, hence clomid.

I went for a smear and a chlamydia test this morning and the nurse said the GP referring me needed to know if my husband is a smoker, which he is. He smokes about 10 a day maximum, and this information has gone on the referral. I am now very worried.

Has anyone been told they couldn't have clomid, or been denied another fertility treatment, because of a smoking partner?

Smoking can mean low count sperm so Clomid may not help anyway, might be considered a waste of resources/money to prescribe if ypur DH smokes. He needs to give up if you're seriously ttc.

He's had a semen analysis and everything's fine. I hate the fact that he smokes and I have been nagging asking him to consider quitting for years Sad I did tell him it could affect our chances of having a baby and he's cut down a bit but still won't quit completely

Cutting down is a start. But the fact he still smokes is likely to affect the doctor's decision on whether to prescribe Clomid, there will be non-smoking couples ttc. Does he intend to give up if you get pregnant?

He says he does intend to before we have a baby, but he's been saying that for a long time.
