33, TTC #1 for a year, couple of early losses, cycles consistently 27-29 days, now CD36.

Only DTD twice during FW this month (and not a lot else tbh) so very sure am not preggo, now at least 7 days late, stark white BFN (FRER, last night) and no symptoms of anything. Also tested 11dpo (DH & I both thought we had a line), 12dpo, 15dpo, both white.

DH says GP, I laughed, then thought maybe I should ask here if anyone knows anything about this? TIA x

HelloSmile this happened to me a few cycles ago... turns out I just missed a whole period altogether. It came back normal time the next month!

How did you confirm ovulation? Unless you were temping then you probably didn't ovulate when you thought you did and you aren't really late. If you were temping then I'd agree it is very unusual and possibly indicates another wary loss I'm afraid.

Either way after 1 year and a couple of early losses, a GP would be appropriate. They'll run some timed blood tests at this point and also get your OH to do a sperm test.

In my case, I did have one month where I'd didn't ovulate at all. My temps never shifted and my period was delayed. I went to the doctors as it had been about 7 months and I was nearly 35 so I added a few months on and GP was happy to start tests. I ended up conceiving the next month.

This happened to me, I was so late and got a few tests I thought were positive. But I think my eyes were just playing tricks! I basically just missed a period and came on bang on the dot of my next period start date. Apparently it's quite common. Hope you get your answers soon xx

Guys, thank you as ever - down off the ceiling. I'll stop extrapolating doom and maybe mention it at Wednesday's smear.

@spugzbunny first cycle ever I didn't confirm ovulation, all became a bit too much & stepped back for a bit. Felt the better of it til now! would it be less of a concern if normally consistent CD14 ovulation is delayed by up to or more than a week, though? never thought about that phase being the delay, or why that might be. Mid move to Scotland so I'll wait kick things off with the next health authority. Glad you had a great outcome in the end.

Thanks again all x

It's always your ovulation that is delayed, the bit between ovulation and a period is fixed and usually around 14 days but anything between 9 & 17 is pretty normal. It doesn't vary by more than a day or so in an individual though.

Yes I'd say it's perfectly normal to have a delayed ovulation due to stress. Hot weather can also effect things. I'd say most people have the odd month where they don't ovulate - it's jut that we never notice unless we are TTC.

Really interesting, thanks a lot. Better re-start tracking ovulation I think. Thanks again.

In case anyone is still tuned in here - @spugzbunny had it in one; ovulated late & two months preggo! Pays to switch off for a month (unless you want an accurate date without a scan 🙄) thanks again all!
