Advice? Irregular cycles?

I'm just going to explain my situation from the past year and hopefully gain some advice/insight.

So, hubby and I have been ttc for just over a year.

My last cycle was 26th May, before that it was around Dec/Jan time.
I do know my body and usually after a long cycle, I get a regular one straight after it (28-32 days) then it's back to a few months.

My doctor has prescribed me many things, we're saving up for better help.

We BD'd a lot from the 2nd week of my last cycle, but due to unforeseen circumstances - hubby had to leave the city at the end of June. So the last time we BD was the 28th, he's coming home tomorrow and my period is nowhere to be seen.

As they're so irregular, I'm not sure if there's a chance I could be pg. Dr wants to wait at least 13/14 months/cycles to see, which is almost up.

The night of July 5th, which was my birthday, I got extremely strong AF pains. I thought I was coming on. Which I would usually get cramps 3 days post period.

Next morning - it wasn't there, so I drove to my parents in the country as I've been a bit emotional due to all of this.

Fast forward to the 12th July, I was bloated, having random waves of nausea, cramping mildly at night on the left side to which I can only estimate where my ovaries were.

The morning of 13th, I woke up and felt physically sick. No cramps until the night for the next 2 days.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice? As I'm going out of my mind, symptom spotting when I know it's most likely impossible.

Just anything would be greatly appreciated - and thank you for taking the time to read this!

Have you tested? I think if you were ovulating around the end of June it would show up now on a test. Fingers crossed for you.

I tested around the 8th July, it was BFN. I don't have much faith in this cycle.

Do you think there could still be a chance? Not sure if I ovulate late.

There is a slim chance, if you ovulated around that time as it was 2 weeks ago. Do you know how long your luteal phase is? Mine is 12 days so I can trace back to when I ovulated.

cmdoran1991 · 16/07/2018 18:59

I remember having slight cramps and saying to him "it could be time" and we dtd, as i thought they were ov cramps.

I haven't been able to track leutal phase properly but I'm estimating that it's between 12-20 days.

But as I'm irregular, it's messed up a little. I've to wait a while to go back to the doctor, he said even the first day of my next period to get blood work. It's just so daunting.

Have had shooting pains in my left boob today and tender nips, but again think I'm just symptom spotting.

I might be wrong but I didn't think the time between ovulation and your period starting would change - it is generally the same length but ovulation dates can vary. So you'll always come on 2 weeks after ovulation. So it would be unusual to have a 20 day luteal phase.

Have you tried measuring your temperature? It's a good way to see if you definitely have ovulated, although I got a bit obsessed with it so haven't done it for awhile to give myself a break.

I didn't want you to have a novel to read, so ill try and keep it short but basically what happens is this:

My last period was around the 24th May, before that Dec '17, before that it was Sept. So they are completely out of balance, I got my notes out there and realised the 2 month cycles feel a lot shorter as I'm usually waiting 4-6 months on one.

Every time I got EWCM I assumed I was ovulating, which I looked up and it can range from 12hrs-2 days, so I always noted it between the days my ov tests and my bleed - which (again as im irregular i cant say its accurate) ranged around 12-20 days, my last length between ov and period was 18 (maybe 17) again if I done it correctly. Unless I'm doing this all completely wrong?

So far I've been using ovulation monitors and sticks, thermometer, cm (which I know isn't a good indicator most of the time) plus we bd every few days, this is the longest we haven't as hes away to his family.

maybe its because im on my own im symptom spotting so much.

think af is on her way now anyway, so i must be out, anyway as soon as it comes i can go to my dr and nag him until he at least tries to help.

How you doing today? Did af arrive @cmdoran1991?

cmdoran1991 · 17/07/2018 18:54

Doing okay thanks for checking up! How are you?
& No she didn't, got some EWCM today which is so weird because I had some a few weeks ago and hadn't had a period since.

So confused!

You not tempted to test? A couple of months ago I had ewcm a few days before af arrived. I find ttc very confusing!

cmdoran1991 · 17/07/2018 20:40

I am but I've been having cramping, sore nips (tmi sorry) and a lot of discharge which i usually get a few days before af so just going to give it a few days.

it definitely is, when we weren't ttc or before i was with OH i used to waive these symptoms off. now its any little symptom the first thing i think of is "omg im pg!"

but i dont remember ever having ewcm twice in a cycle. but then again theyre not always the same.

how about you? are things going well for you?

Haha, yes, every tiny twinge means definitely pregnant!

We've been trying since December and not a sniff of a positive. We decided to stop trying last month as I got so obsessed and it was stressing me out, so I'm not charting or anything. I'm having acupuncture every couple of weeks, it's quite relaxing. It's helped not thinking about it all the time. Still feel a bit sad and worried about why it's not happening but trying not to focus on that.

Hope you get an answer soon
