Does anyone have a photo of a whole cycle or the build up to and ovulation on ovulation sticks?

Just that really?
I'm struggling to work out just as the surge will arrive
They have been getting darker for the last three days and I'm wondering if they do a big leap for the actual ovulation ?

I think it can vary with different people but these were mine this month.

What app do you use @NoseringGirl? I don't think mine lets me take photos of the OPKs and it looks quite useful!

NoseringGirl · 14/07/2018 18:24

I use Glow to do this, it even tells you if they're positive which is handy!

BoBo90 · 14/07/2018 18:32

Hi, this is cd12-23, the brackets on the side are to say those tests were taken on the same day. I used to take loads because I’m a poas addict my cycles were long and unpredictable!

Hey guys thanks so much for these they are super helpful
@NoseringGirl is your ovulation on the 16th Day? I am learning to interpret

And then @BoBo90 Is the ovulation in the 4th bracket?
I seem to be around the 29 day mark with my last period on the 1st but I think I am ready to ovulate
By mucus observation

Its tricky trying to work it out

NoseringGirl · 14/07/2018 20:28

CD16 was the positive OPK, I usually ovulate the day after a positive (or near positive as I don't always catch it completely dark) but my temp went up on that day too this cycle.

takenitall · 14/07/2018 20:32

So weirdly my stick is now lighter at end of the day then it was this am but the test line wasn't as strong as the control line

Have I missed it this month?
I am trying to work out if I am ovulating (not ttc)
Due to several issues from steroids in the last 6 months

And I want to have a baby soon and want to try soon

I am a bit shocked

It can depend on how diluted your urine is as well. If you've drunk loads of water and been for a wee recently, then it might not show up as dark.
These tests can also only tell you that your body is preparing to ovulate. Sometimes it'll gear up but not manage it for whatever reason, or get close to positive and fade out again then go positive a few days later.
I personally find temping (either alongside OPKs for a bit of warning as when ovulation might be coming up or without) to be a more reliable way of knowing if you're ovulating. If you use an app like fertility friend it'll do the analysis for you so saves a lot of interpretation.

Can I use a digital therm?
I don't even get a temperature if I've got an infection?

Have had a lot of steroids this year and cysts and I think I'm not ovulating yet :(

I can't recommend the app
Fertility friend enough. It's so fantastic. I used a digital basal body temp thermometer (2 decimal places) and I found it wa slots accurate when I did it vaginally. Pop it up, wait for it to beep. The shift in temp can be very subtle and it's over time rather than a one-off so using the FF app meant it took the guess work out.

NoseringGirl · 14/07/2018 21:49

It needs to be to 2 decimal places because it's quite a small shift in temperature you're looking for and it also needs to be taken as soon as you wake up so before you move about etc.
Fertility Friend have a great introduction to charting tutorial on their website.

BoBo90 · 15/07/2018 02:14

@Takenitall yes I had a positive opk in the fourth bracket then I usually assume egg release is the following day and the day after that is 1dpo.
Monitoring cm is a good sign of ov about to happen too. Another thing you can monitor is your cervix. It should feel low and soft for ovulation and firm and high the rest of the cycle.

takenitall · 15/07/2018 08:32

Thank you for all of the tips
I thought my mucus was the best way to monitor but when I thought I was ovulating I haven't had that very very strong first line.
I can take photos next cycle I think it would be helpful for me to have a proper look at them all over a period of time
I get out of bed more then 15 times at night and through the morning so the temperature won't work for me!

Here's the last 5 days so do you think I ovulated on the darkest one ? It's even lighter this morning
Period due in about 2 weeks

spugzbunny · 15/07/2018 11:21

None of those are positive but the darkest is close. That's why people do multiple a day as you might just have missed it. What time of day do you test?

takenitall · 15/07/2018 12:00

All different times of the day I didn't know I had to check at the same time
I'm only trying to work out for contraception and also for steroids interfering with them
I did them like 36 hours apart in some cases I know I did for the darkest to the next, much paler one

OP posts:
spugzbunny · 15/07/2018 20:15

I did 11am, 2pm, 6pm and 10pm. Not every day but for the few days around when you think you might ovulate. That's why the cheap ones are great! Just cheap amazon ones - I used onestep I think. The darkest was always around 2pm but I never strictly got a positive as a positive is when yeh test line is dark as or darker than the control. I also didn't get a positive on clear blue and I have a very noisy 4 month old currently breastfeeding!

takenitall · 15/07/2018 20:28

Oh god that sounds a lot of work I'm trying to work it out mostly for contraception/ also admittedly I am anxious if I am ovulating or not following steroids
It looks like I most likely am as the test got so dark and I didn't know it needed to be done so regularly
I'm going to place my bets I have ovulated this month!

TreasureInMyTummy · 15/07/2018 22:22

I paid for iui so did these for a few months before to get used to my cycle. When I got a rhythm of when in cycle I ovulated I could start 2/3 days before and would do 3/4 times a day. Just remember not to drink too much beforehand so not too dilute ( though obvs don't get dehydrated in this weather)

I got two bfps ( second with successful pregnancy) one after another so good method to do. I also checked my mucus and used the clear blue digital ovulation on the day I expected until it showed ( although I found the Internet sticks to be more accurate??)

Good luck x

HappyHedgehog247 · 15/07/2018 22:25

I tried for months with OpK sticks. Can’t recommend BBT enough!

takenitall · 15/07/2018 22:31

I get out of bed too many times from about 130 onwards as my son wants cuddles and I need to wee / can't sleep well

I'll try and catch it next Month. Just want to be sure I am ovulating

My mucus when I thought I was ovulating I wasn't ovulating but I've been told that just after the egg white mucus is when you ovulate which is interesting and in line with these sticks

I had no problems conceiving my son who was made the first month ttc

OP posts:
spugzbunny · 15/07/2018 22:43

It doesn't HAVE to be done so regularly but some people have a very short window. You'll quickly work out when you do get the best results and then just test then. For me, the best time was 2pm but they do recommend you test in the afternoon rather than first thing in the morning.
