long luteal phase - is it a problem?

I seem to ovulate around CD11 or 12 but have a 28 day cycle. Anyone know if that is a problem as opposed to a short phase? I wondered whether the egg has time to mature properly. I may be clutching at straws here after 15 months ttc (with one early mc) and that pre AF feeling once again!

Hi from what I have read a normal luteal phase lasts between 12-16 days so if you ovulate on cd 12 then that's fine. Are you sure that you're ovulating when you think you are? A very useful book to read is taking charge of your fertility by toni weschler. It might be that you are ovulating later than you think. Thanks bcb. I think I do ovulate on cd12ish (by EWCM and also have a CB fertility monitor). Who knows why it is taking so long...
