Clomid - bloating after ovulation

Hi
I’ve been reading these forums for a while but haven’t posted anything up to now.
Myself and my husband have been trying for 2 years. I have PCOS and have just had my 3rd Clomid cycle.
The scan I had this month only showed one follicle of 12.3mm so I was told it wouldnt release and I have an IVF appointment at the end of the month.
I still did opk’s and had one that may have been positive on CD 26 and also had EWCM around the same time so we made sure we did the deed then Blush Also a couple of days after this, I started to get that horrible bloat and constipation (sorry if too much info!) so I thought maybe I had ovulated...?
I did a pregnancy test on Sunday (CD 38) which was negative so I’ve been expecting my period but it’s not happed which makes me think I mustn’t have ovulated.
The thing is, I’m still really boated and having severely painful cramps from the wind! Blush
From what I’ve read, the bloating etc is caused by the release of progesterone after ovulation, but if I’ve not ovulated, would I still have produced the progesterone and if not, why won’t the wind go away? It’s so painful! Confused
Can anyone shed any light or has experienced similar??
Thanks for reading. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Amy xx

I bet you do lovely. Trying to keep going with the mind over matter that maybe this month is the month and that's why I'm feeling a bit worse than usual, but that leads to symptom spotting which is just ridiculous haha. Fingers crossed for you. I've heard clomid side effects can make it all worse x

Hi I haven't been on Clomid yet either but last month I had serious bloating after ovulation and got Day 21 bloods for progesterone taken which were 27.1 - an ovulatory cycle although below 30 is still low but happy ovulation occurred. 3DPO today and super bloating back again! See the progesterone! I had very intense ovary pain on Sat the day I presumed I ovulated!

Fingers crossed for you @kitkatsky.
I know what you mean with symptom spotting- I always feel like my body is playing a cruel joke on me with symptoms. The worst thing about Clomid that I’ve found is the hot flushes which seem to go on forever! Are you due to start on Clomid soon? Hoping it won’t get that far for you.

@angelmiracle Fingers crossed for you too!
I’ve only been having follicle scans to be honest. They’ve not tested for progesterone. It’s just a mind field isn’t it. You don’t know what to think. Hopefully you’ve ovulated.
