Hi everyone,
I'm 28 and desperate to be a mum. I've been with my boyfriend for over a year and he is also very keen to start a family so we have agreed that we will begin TTC this time next year.
So far we have created an action plan to accomplish prior to getting pregnant. This includes getting engaged, getting our or finances in order and having a deposit for buying a house etc.
Any other tips/ goals you think we should consider prior to getting pregnant?

You sound very organised, so I assume you have done the standard pre-conception stuff e.g. Folic acid for you, track cycles to get an idea of fertile window (cervical mucus is the easiest way to do this, you can temperature chart if you want more information). Tracking cycles isn't necessary, but can speed things up once you get started.

Some mortgage applications ask you if there are likely to be any changes to your family situation - I always kind of wonder if you wouldn't get the mortgage if pregnant.... might be worth bearing in mind.

Have you thought ahead to childcare? Do you have family who will help? This might affect how much mat leave you take, and therefore finances.

Do you have friends with babies? Good to get some hands on experience in advance.
