This is an evap line isn’t it!?

I’m on cd 10 testing for ovulation, my last period was normal and I’ve just been referred for fertility testing so my chances of being pregnant are next to zero. I took a pregnacy strip test by mistake as they are very similar and I was half asleep. I’ve taken more pregnancy tests and they are negative. Just thought I would post this to warn others as it was a bit of of shock. They are the cheap one step pink stip dye tests.

Dear me wasn't expecting to that , that's a positive not an evap!! Congratulations 🙂🙂

MrsSkeffington · 10/07/2018 08:36

Go buy a frer

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 08:42

I know it really looks positive but it’s impossible for me to be pregnant! I had a normal period 10 days ago and I’ve taken different pregnacy tests and they’ve all come back negative. I think these tests are just crap 🙁

I had a false positive on a one step test. If you look at the reviews on Amazon, it doesn't seem uncommon. I was so disappointed when I realised I wasn't :(

ohsoamazing · 10/07/2018 08:48

Clear positive to me. The cheapie ones were the first to detect my pregnancy

leanne9312 · 10/07/2018 09:19

Maybe try test again xx

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 09:41

I’ve tested again and it’s showing a faint line on the same brand of test but negative on clear blue and another type. Honestly think they are just crap tests and it’s an evap! Proper shitty, I won’t be buying them again x thanks for all your replies x

In my experience, clear blue weren't very good at all. Having said that, neither were the internet cheapies. I would buy a first response and test with that. I'd say that would be your definite answer. That does look like a positive test to me so fingers crossed for you Flowers

Wellthisunexpected · 10/07/2018 09:47

I'd trust an internet cheapy over clear blue to be honest. Go and buy a frer, then you can be sure.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 09:49

zerozerooneone thank you so much, I’ll try a FRER. To be honest if it is positive (which I don’t think it is) I’d be panicking that it’s anothet ectopic as this is what happened to me last time. I had a period then found out I was pregnant a few days after my ‘period’. The only difference is that I don’t have any pain or brown spotting at the moment and my last period was really normal. Ahhhh this is such a head fuck 🙁

I got positives on these tests too.

With dd I did 3 at a time just to be sure Smile I was a serial tester.

Good luck op

NoseringGirl · 10/07/2018 10:01

It's got too much colour in it to be an evap. I wouldn't trust clear blues either, and would definitely double check on a pink dye test. To be honest, with that line and the timing I'd think you'd have enough hcg to show on a digital. Best of luck!

zerozerooneone · 10/07/2018 10:57

I have been in that position! I would say try and get a definite answer on a new test first. And then worry about the possible ectopic, perhaps get an early scan if positive. As you'll only carry on wondering/ worrying otherwise.
I was a serial tester during my pregnancy and the tests were very varied in their sensitivity.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 12:39

It’s weird the line is pink! There’s just no way I’m pregnant!. I’ll buy a FRER and take another test tonight x

OP posts:
Stormwhale · 10/07/2018 14:34

Good luck with tonight's test op.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 15:37

Stormwhale Thanks so much, I’m really panicking about ectopics 🙁

OP posts:
Stormwhale · 10/07/2018 15:41

You can only deal with what you know, so take it one step at a time. First find out properly if you are pregnant, then see the gp to chat it over if you are. If you try to deal with it all at once you will be a nervous wreck. Sending you a virtual hand hold. Flowers

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 15:48

@Stormwhale thanks so much, very sensible advice, I think I’m just influenced by past experience! Ill try to not think about it I’ll update you all later! 😊 I guess I’m just wondering if it is possible to have a period whilst pregnant and for it to be ok and not either an ectopic or miscarriage.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 19:52

So definitely not pregnant, it’s a bad evap line. Bit pissed of that I’ve been worrying myself sick all day. I’ve included the packet at the bottom so you all know to stay away from these tests. Broke my heart a bit to be honest xxx

This is an evap line isn’t it!?

Kenworthington · 10/07/2018 19:59

Lear lie are crap and the digital ones are notorious for being really insensitive. The ic ones are totally bfp

Kenworthington · 10/07/2018 19:59

LEar lie? That’s meant to be clear blue ffs

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 20:01

I couldn’t get a FRER but if I had hcg in my system surely it would show on other tests? I think it’s just a shit test and an evap 🙁

OP posts:
Wellthisunexpected · 10/07/2018 20:22

I see a faint line on the one above the internet cheapy.

Can you take a closer photo.

Clear blue are shit.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 10/07/2018 20:26

Wellthisunexpected yes I thought that but it’s just a bit of trapped water sadly 🙁 I never thought evap lines would be so dark and have colour it’s mad

OP posts:
LookMoreCloselier · 10/07/2018 20:34

I've had pink evap lines on two ics from the same pack, not quite as dark as that but still reasonably dark, definitely no squinting required. I wouldn't have believed it if it hadn't happened to me but some of them are dodgy. Sorry op. In my case I didn't want to be pregnant so the stress it caused was pretty shit!
