Advice on ivf for same sex relationship

Hello ladies!
First time posting so I’m a little nervous with the responses I will get!

My question is I’m in my 20’s and I’m currently in a same sex relationship, I have been for 2 years!
Iv always wanted to be a young mum, but it never planned out for me because I could never get pregnant.
My question is could I get help from my gp with getting help on finally getting to carry a child of mine and watch them grow or is it something that il be wasting my time on asking for and break my heart even more?
Iv grown up around kids and always looked after them so I know I’m fully able and I can cope.
I’m just worried il get turned away 😔

Any advice would be fantastic as I cannot find anything on the web that can help me with my questions?

Thankyou again for taking your time to read!

I don't know about the ivf side of things but if you suspect you have fertility problems, then yes, your GP should be your first port of call as presumably they can send you to a specialist for testing.

You absolutely can be referred for treatment, one of my friends and her wife are currently having IVF. Unfortunately it’s not available on the NHS in our area for same sex couples so that’s something you’d need to take into account. IUI costs around £800-£1000 per cycle and IVF about £4000

You would definitely get referred but unless you have fertility problems then I think you would need to pay for it yourself x

Thankyou ladies! Il have to bite the bullet and find out from my GP
