Ovulation after miscarriage

Hi
I had a mmc at the beginning of last week Sad-we have both decided to try again straight away but having trouble getting my head around when I'll ovulate.

Lots of other forums/websites say 2-4 weeks after the mc but is that the actual day of the mc? When you stop bleeding?

We were lucky enough to fall pregnant straight away so hopefully the same will happen again

I've ordered some LH testing strips but wondered if anybody had any other advice?

Thanks

Wait until you’ve had a negative pregnancy test after the bleeding stops before you start using Lh surge tests as these can show positive if there’s still pregnancy hormones inside you from the mc. Sorry for you loss Flowers

So sorry for your loss. Coffeekittens is spot on. I was very confused to be getting positive ovulation tests when I was still getting blazing positive pregnancy tests - but the HCG still in my system was getting confused for LH. I got told by hospital to expect AF 4-6 weeks after miscarriage (I had an MVA) so would expect to ovulate 2-4 weeks after procedure. However, in my case it is taking a bit longer for the HCG to leave my system (it needs to be heading towards 0 for you to ovulate) so you may need to be patient. Which really sucks. I was also told not to DTD until bleeding stopped to avoid infection. Best of luck for another speedy BFP.

As other have already said, wait for negative pg test before looking for for ovulation, and no DTD until bleeding has stopped.

I had a MMC at the end of March and I don't think I actually ovulated in that cycle at all. It was a much longer cycle than normal as my HCG took a while to come down (4 weeks after ERPC) and I got AF a week later (39 day cycle altogether, normally 29/30 days for me). It's common not to have a period for 6 weeks or so after MMC.

Sorry for your loss. Hugs.
I hope you get a sticky bean soon. xxx

Pressed post too soon!

I have another hospital appointment tomorrow so keeping fingers crossed everything has passed naturally- is it likely they'll test my hormone levels? Is this an immediate result?

I didn't appreciate how heartbreaking this whole process is before my heart really goes out to anyone in the same/similar position it's so awful

Thank you so much for your reply's! Hopefully things will work out better next time xx
