Silly question but...(symptom spotting even though my period started!!)

Ok ok, I know this is going to sound crazy but here goes - Hmm
Has anyone any experience of what looked like a light/short period but then turned out they were actually pregnant?

We just started trying for number 2 this month, but had a crappy few days of horrible arguments right when we should have been DTD like crazy (think DP was having a mini panic even though he has agreed to TTC!) and ended up only having 1 shot at this month, probably right at the end of my FW (or maybe too late). I was half heartedly temping and using OPKs but because I was so inconsistent with timing I managed to totally confuse my app and it thought I only ovulated once I stopped adding data, haha!

Anyway, I wasn't too surprised when I saw signs on Tuesday that my period was coming, although I had noticed I felt nauseous for a few days, boobs feel a bit different and also my body felt incredibly stiff (I do a hobby that means I really notice this and am usually v flexible, and the difference to "normal" was huge!). First off On Tuesday I got one flash of red that i thought could have been implantation bleeding as that happened for me with DD, and the timing was similar. But by the afternoon I was getting some brown blood when I went to the bathroom, and my period started in the evening. Usually the first few days is really intense but this has been much much lighter than normal, and seems to almost be finished now. But I am still feeling nauseous, stiff and slightly off, and making myself slightly crazy thinking - is it possible?

I guess I should just test but seems so stupid!!

Can anyone sensible please tell me to get a grip?

If there was red blood you are probably not pregnant. You could buy one of the internet cheapies - you get quite a few so since you're TTCing, you can save some for next month (if you're not pregnant now)

Good luck :)

I had a 'period', quite heavy for the first day or so, but then quite light and shorter than normal. Didn't realise I was actually pregnant until 5 1/2 weeks when all my OPKs had strong lines on them.

Unfortunately I miscarried a week later at 6 1/2 weeks, but it may have been entirely unrelated to the 'period'.

I had a "period" before getting my BFP. Had a small amount of red bleeding on day one/two and then brown spotting which continued for a few days. Only tested because it was such an unusual period for me and kept having dreams of having a positive test. By the time I tested (CD39) digital said 2-3 weeks pregnant.

I went on to have a MMC, however the bleeding had stopped by then and I don't think it was related.

Only way to know is to do a test.

Thank you so much, and so sorry for your losses.
I think it was just a case of me trying to make the facts fit what I was hoping for, but I was genuinely interested if there was any chance I could be pregnant! Anyway I did a test this morning and of course it was negative so now I will just relax until we get to the next fertile week when hopefully we will give it a better try this month!
