Cycles have gone weird, any help?

I have had semi-regular cycles for a long time, usually around 27 days but ranging from 25-29 at most. I haven't been on birth control for years and years. We started TTCing last cycle and they've suddenly gotten strange!

Last cycle: Only 22 days, started spotting on Day 22. I think I was only about 9DPO, ovulated on CD13. Have never had this short a cycle.

This cycle: I'm currently on CD27 and would normally expect AF tomorrow. But I didn't ovulate until CD19 so I'm only 8DPO.

The ovulation dates are estimates based on the CBFM, I'm not telling so can't confirm that ovulation has occurred. If you look at the last two cycles, my O dates are 28 days apart. It's just that AF started weirdly early.

Should I just ignore and hope that it all straightens out?

Don't like to leave you hanging but not sure I have an answer. My cycles went a bit weird as I started IVF. It's amazing how the mind can affect the body. It's probably nothing and I would wait and see. If you're concerned you can see a Dr but I suspect it might be worth having a few odd cycles before you do.

Good luck x

It could be that you're now focused on it your body is reacting a bit - my cycle is sensitive to stress and change so could be that. I'd suggest temping using fertility friend so you can pinpoint ovulation and get a pattern.

If its bothering you, maybe see your gp although if you're not having mid cycle bleeding or pain etc they probably won't look into it as you haven't been ttc for 12 months.

Good luck i hope you even out soon and you get your bfp.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the messages. I don’t think it’s worth seeing the doctor for one odd cycle, I was just wondering if it had happened to anyone else. Maybe it was just stress!

I’ve made it to 12dpo so far this cycle, so I’m hoping it was a one off and that I won’t have any other luteal phase issues.

Good luck to you ladies as well!
