Is there any chance at all or have I messed up?

I had IUI yesterday. It was day 19 of my cycle and the fifth day of my flashing 'estrogen' smiley.

I know I should have waited for the LH surge but I was abroad and had a flight home booked!

I had a scan which showed a dominant follicle which indicated ovulation. Also had CM and a small bleed which can indicate ovulation.

Was convinced I would get my solid smiley LH surge yesterday afternoon or evening which would give me a chance m but nope still flashing. It's still flashing this morning.

I've messed up haven't I? Sad

Anyone who did A level biology on here who understands this stuff?!

I only have a rudimentary knowledge of this from TTC a few years ago but if you had IUI yesterday, doesn't that give you a 3ish day window for being "fertile" and you should be ok as long as you ovulate in the next 3 days or so?

Can't offer much help but apparently sperm can live for five days so you could have a chance? Or maybe you missed the LH surge.

Best of luck x

I’m so sorry that must be so disappointing. If you get a solid smiley tomorrow I would think there’s still a slim chance. If there’s no solid smiley tomorrow it’s probably quite unlikely.

It was using donor sperm which I think only lasts 24 hours Sad

Feel so foolish - it was v expensive too!

I wasn't aware of that - sorry!
Fingers crossed for you.

Have you caught your LH surge in previous months? It could be that you surge quickly and you have missed it especially if you're only testing once a day? Fingers crossed for you x

daimbars · 03/07/2018 19:53

Ooh I hope so Juney.

Usually I get 3 or 4 days of flashing then the LH surge - I'm now on day 6 and still flashing.

Hoping the LH happened and I just didn't test for it at the right time. Was testing twice a day though

Really hoping for you keep us updated. I had 2 DIUI in 2014 and they were mistimed in my opinion.

Where have you gone for your treatment?

Good luck for your 2ww x

daimbars · 04/07/2018 11:50

Thanks @juneybean - still flashing today! Which gives me hope that this is post LH surge estrogen and I somehow missed testing the LH surge.

I'll keep you updated

I live in the UK but the fertility clinic is in Copenhagen

You don't happen to temp do you?

daimbars · 05/07/2018 13:56

Temp as in take my temperature? Nope I haven't tried that.

Ah might have been an indicator of ovulation but not to worry. How are you feeling?

daimbars · 05/07/2018 19:17

Well I'm still flashing today (day 22 in cycle!) so if there was a LH surge I definitely missed it and this is post ov estrogen. I have a pretty regular 29 or 30 day cycle. So I guess I'll know either way by this time next week.

Thanks for the support Juney and others and fingers crossed for you too x
