Conceiving again after ovulation issues

I did about 3 rounds of clomid on the highest dose before I conceived my DC. I used to have irregular periods and after testing the doctors concluded I wasn't ovulating properly. Anyway we were lucky enough for the clomid to work and to have a beautiful DC to show for it.
My DH and I would like to try for another one soon but my periods still seem irregular. I don't know why I presumed that the issue would go away afterwards. Has anyone been in a similar situation and been able to conceive naturally after their first DC? Or know if it is possible to do another round of clomid when you've done it before?

@curlyrebel hi I have never taken Clomid but I have pcos and irregular cycles. DS1 took 18months to conceive. My cycles were between 28 days and 64 then!! I was 24 and naive so did not do opks or realise there was literally one day in the month to catch the egg! We just regularly dtd throughout each month. The 18th month we did once!! Cd8 would you believe and we got our miracle bfp (us and our families always call ds the miracle baby - prob as none if them struggled to conceive!)

I'm now ttc#2 6 years after that 1st bfp. Have been not preventing since we had DS. I'm now at the beginning of gynae consultant appointments. Had a hsg and waiting for SA appointment for DH. Bloods last month confirmed I had an 'ovulatory cycle' and my opks indicated I had too. But no bfp this month. Im not sure I O every month as I had 49day cycle in March.

Sorry for waffling on but my point is that even with secondary infertility there's still a slightly better chance of bfp if you got DC. Also I do not see any reason why you wouldn't be offered Clomid again given your history. Until my gynae gets DH SA he'll not see me again because if issues arent with me I doubt they'll offer me Clomid.

I feel it will happen for us again but I just have to be patient as it's just taking much longer but I'm finding it very tough after 6 years!

Let me know how you get on and definitely get ball rolling with GP to refer you to gynae esp with your history 💐🤞

Thanks Angelmiracle. Your DD really was a miracle! We were trying for 2.5 years before I was given Clomid. I don't think it would have happened naturally otherwise. I was never diagnosed with PCOS which makes me wonder if there is anything else behind the irregular periods. Anyway, you're right, it's a good idea to go to the doctors soon. I'm also nearing 40 now so time isn't on my side! I guess Clomid isn't an expensive drug so should be offered it again. I really hope you have some luck yourselves!
