Really Confused and could use advice about Pre Conception

I am a brand new poster, I have no idea what I am doing and really need advice.

I recently got married and me and DH would like to try for a baby. I tried to talk to the nurse at my GP, but she was useless.

I've been on the pill (microgynon) for about 14 years, when I stop taking it, do I have to wait until I've finished all 21 pills, or can I stop mid packet? How long after stopping the pill should we use other protection before we start trying for a baby? DH is not keen on using condoms, but I'm not sure how long the pill stays in your system, I assume it's best to wait for my normal cycle to resume?

Finally I have been taken WellWoman vitamins for years, but will switch to the PreConception version, is this recommended?

I'm 37 and DH is 40 and this will be the first time for both of us.

You can stop mid-packet if you want. No reason to use protection either.

No need for multivitamins apart from folic acid and vitamin D. Good luck x

You can stop mid packet or you can wait. Up to you.

You’ll get a withdrawal bleed (like your pill free week period) and then once that finishes you can crack on!

As above, you don’t need fancy vitamins. Just vitamin D and Folic Acid :)

You should take 400mcg of folic acid for 3 months before TTC (check your current vitamins as they may have that in them).

Then just stop your pill, whenever you like.
