TTC and delaying period

Just want to start off by saying this is such a non-problem I feel silly asking as I know a lot of people have worse issues than this! But just looking for some advice.
Basically, we have a holiday booked in September, going with family so didn’t get to pick the dates specifically. We’ve recently got married and knew we’d be TTC fairly soon and naturally decided we’d start when we got home from holiday.
However! In true Mother Nature style my period is due on the first day. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I’m thinking I only have two options;
A) delay period with norethisterone (can’t spell) - very reluctant to do this cos symptoms still occour and I came off the pill to get my cycle back to normal and it’s spot on now so I don’t want to ruin it
B) get pregnant before we go? We were only waiting til after the holiday so that I could enjoy it / have a drink etc so not that much of an important reason. Obviously we might not be so lucky to get pregnant straight away.

Basically my question is does norethisterone mess up your cycle? Would I be silly to go on a plane in early pregnancy? Do I have any other options?

Thanks all.

Not tried it of heard it, but personally I'd go ahead and try. If you get preg so be it.
I don't think flying in early preg is a problem. Especially if its a short flight.
Any other options to enjoy your holiday like you want to, not worry about being preg and not messing your period up is to abstain or use condoms.

I went on holiday at 6 weeks pregnant with DS2. Flying was fine, I made sure I had crackers to nibble on as I was queasy and water to keep me hydrated. We still had a great time despite my sickness increasing by the end!
I've only had norethisterone to stop a never ending period so not sure of the effect on cycles so can't help with that one. Sorry!

Never used norethisterone so can't comment but I would personally not want to risk messing cycle up again if you are on an even keel right now. Sorry if I am missing something but what about option c) do nothing, have period on holiday, drink and enjoy to heart's content then you'll be approaching fertile window when you get home and ready to go (as it were!) as planned? I've never planned hols around period, I guess since my cycle length can vary by 5 days I can't be that accurate in predicting 3 months ahead. Suppose it depends how crappy your periods are of course, mine not too bad after cd1. Having said all that, with the benefit of hindsight of TTC for a few months so far, I would be tempted to say just start trying now if you're ready 🙂. Good luck!

*Go ahead and try for conception. Not the drug thing
Sorry to be unclear

Thanks everyone. I’m probably just overthinking it! I could just go on holiday with the period I just get really bad pain the first few days and need to take strong painkillers. Waiting on some miracle off switch where you can turn periods off til you need them Grin

I’m pretty sure norethisterone doesn’t muck up your cycle. You can’t take it if pregnant though so if you’re trying now you wouldn’t know in time. Personally, if no other reasons, I’d just take it and then start TTC after holiday

I'm on holiday now and my period started two days before going. I use tampons so it hasn't been a problem. I thought long and hard about norethisterone, I've got the packet in my bedside drawer at home but really pleased I just went with Mother Nature.
