IVF / FET - no blood test offered after HPT?

Hello.

We've just gone through our first IVF cycle, which ended up being a FET (no fresh transfer due to risk of OHSS).

We're now 9dp5dt and got a negative HPT. I understood that a blood test is always offered to confirm the result (positive or negative) more conclusively.
I've now been told that I should take another one in 48 hours and if negative again just stop my meds - no blood test offered, even though I asked.

Is this normal? Since when isn't blood considered more reliable?

Sorry for clinging to straws - but you know what it's like!

Thanks all.

Every clinic is different... some do blood tests and some don't. I'm sorry for your uncertainty. Are you using an frer?

Thank you....
Sorry what's a frer?

Hi @Lizzie982 not all IVF clinics do blood tests. I've been to 2 different clinics - one blood test and the other don't.

Sorry you've not had a positive result today - I can totally understand you wanting to be sure with another test. It is a tough old process.

In general the IVF ladies posted on the infertility threads so you may find more people to chat to over there.

Good luck with it. X
