TTC & PCOS

Hi 👋 This is my first post (a bit nervous). DH and I are ready to start TTC. Last week was my fertile window so now have the agonising wait for a BFP. Trying to stay casual as it’s only cycle 1 but I’m already obsessed lol

I have PCOS and I am worried it may cause issues. Periods have been every month for over 6 months so I’m hopeful that’s a good sign.

I’m excited for this journey and scared of being heartbroken at the same time. Looking for some support or inspiration ❤️

Atkins/Keto

What's your diet like, do you eat low GI?

We had started going down the road of fertility treatment but had to move countries so put it on hold... I conceived DS completely accidentally on about CD90. So it can be done with PCOS even if your cycle is all over the place.

Not sure that this post should be on here. This is the ivf / icsi / infertitlity (ie ttc after 2 years) board. Go to conception support.

We're going to move this to the Conception topic.

Best of luck OP!

Hi, I have PCOS too and am now on cycle 3 of TTC!

At the moment just trying to get my diet on track after doing a lot of research about PCOS and fertility

Fingers crossed for you! Would be nice to hear about some successful PCOS stories Smile

Hello! I'm TTC#3 and I have PCOS. Both my other kids took nearly 18 months each of TTC but we got there in the end. DS1 took 3 cycles of clomid, DS2 I was on metformin and a low GI diet (also had acupuncture).
We've just started trying this time (I'm 7DPO on cycle 1). Part of me is feeling hopeful as I'm ovulating regularly now (I've been tracking my cycles for a while) and I wasn't when previously TTC. On the other hard, I'm prepared for it to take a while.
Some women with PCOS have no issues with getting pregnant, some need a bit of help. It's doable though!

Thanks for the replies ❤️

@DuchyDuke @RivkaMumsnet wasn’t sure what was the right place to post due to my PCOS.

@stellenbosch @VimFuego101 I have been losing weight by generally eating less sugar/junk food/carbs and exercising prior to TTC. Not an exact plan but I guess it’s sort of close to GI/Keto diet. Sounds like I need to do more research. Is it OK to be on a diet whilst TTC?

Lovely to hear successful PCOS stories 😊

It’s nice to speak to people who understand @Zeebsw @NoseringGirl My GP said to come back after 2 years if we were struggling which feels too long considering having PCOS
