Bleeding and pain after a chemical pregnancy

I had a chemical pregnancy this month - positive tests tues - thurs, started spotting on the thurs night and full bleed starting on Sunday.

The bleeding has mostly stopped but I’m passing loads of brown jelly-like mucus (lovely!!) and today have got period-type pain today, especially in my lower back which has come and come but seems to be getting worse.

Should I be worried about this? Is it normal or could it signal some sort of infection?

Did you get a negative pregnancy test?

Emmafh3 · 15/06/2018 21:58

Surely having those kinds of positive tests mean a mc not a chemical? Maybe I'm wrong.
My chemical was painful and heavy. My mc's varied from painless and heavy to painful and heavy to regular period.
Every person is different, if you're worried consult your doctors

I thought a chemical was just a v early mc? Had a negative test from Saturday and then very heavy bleeding.

A chemical pregnancy is an outdated term that just refers to a pregnancy that ends before 6 weeks.

Ah I'm with you. You'd think they would just consider it all a miscarriage but hey ho.
Its all crap.
How is the pain and bleeding now op? I was always told if it's unbearable with paracetamol to contact gp again as it could mean ectopic or some sort of hemorrhage. (obviously not trying to scare you)

@emmafh3 I’ve probably got all my terms mixed up somewhere! It’s certainly not unbearable, feels like pressure, almost like I’m getting a uti and just loads of brown blood. I’ll prob book a docs appointment just to check what’s going on - loads of spots have popped up on my chin and my boobs hurt again so I’m sure my hormones are just out of whack! Thanks for your help!
