Hi all,

I have a 9.5 month old daughter whom I am currently breastfeeding. Periods returned astonishingly quickly; when my daughter was only 4 weeks old. Since giving birth, each time I was due on my period it was always later than the last. My last menstrual cycle weirdly arrived on time but was different to all the others. To being with it was brown and sluggish but it was bright red by day number 3. My period was longer than usual as well (9 days long). I assumed it was my body flushing absolutely everything out and sorting it self out. I assumed my periods were going to be on time from then on. About a week before this period was due I had unprotected sex with my oh and now im 2 weeks late for this period! Is it possible that I could be pregnant despite a) breastfeeding and b) having sex only 1 week before my period? Im not showing any pregnancy signs other than moody and unusual discharge. I had mild cramping for an hour the other day. No usual pms symptoms what so ever. Tia

Discharge was my first pregnancy symptom. If you've been having longer than usual and irregular cycles, how do you know when your period was due? I'd say there's a very good chance you ovulated late and are now pregnant. If the sex was 3 weeks ago, that's long enough to get a definitive answer on a pregnancy test, so I'd get a test if I were you!

100% possible. Plenty of people get pregnant whilst BF and can even get pregnant before their first period returns so I'd go POAS if I were you!

If you are having periods you are most likely ovulating so yes, get a test!
