Can anyone help me with this? I have looked on google and a lot of people have said that 7% morphology (93% abnormal sperm) is really bad and that their doctors have suggested going straight to IVF, where as some others say it’s fine.

Results are:
Period of abstinence: 3 days
Volume: 4ml
Sperm concentration: 76 million per ml
Motility: 60%
Progressively motile: 56%
Forward progression rating: moderate
Morphology: 93% abnormal
Antisperm antibodies: 4% binding
Aggregation and agglutination: 5%
Any help or advise would be really appreciated.

This result is very similar to my DHs recently which was
Volume 70 million
Motility 55%
Morphology 4%
And the consultant said it was in the normal range and well above any cut offs they have where they’d want to repeat. He’s 44 by the way and we are ttc #3. Good luck op.

Sorry I think I confused volume and count. I think you get my drift!

Sorry if I can jump on and ask at what point do you get dp sperm analyzed ? He's 41 this year and we've been trying since beginning of year it's a long way off hopefully just wondering. He's diabetic too but has has testosterone etc checked all good.

@lolacola guidelines (NICE) say if you have reason to suspect a difficulty which includes diabetes then you should be tested after 6mo. I went with DH who also has diabetes for a private check at 6mo (my CCG doesn't follow nice guidelines for fertility). All fine but I wanted to know if we should just be aiming for IVF. Cost about 450.

We waited 12 months but if I were you I’d go now especially with an underlying health condition. At least you know then. Say you’ve been trying 6 months.

@OneDay1234
My DH SA morphology was 7% and we were told that was 'normal'. I believe the 'normal' ranges between 4%-14%.
