Zika Antibodies Test Results - What would you do?

We travelled to a medium risk Zika country just over three months ago.

My husband has received his results on his Zika Virus Antibodies Test - thankfully they showed no antibodies. So assuming these results are reliable, he wasn't exposed to the virus when we were on holiday.

I am already out of my "incubation period".

I am so desperate to TTC it is taking over my life at the moment. I am 33 years old. I am aware of the risks associated with being exposed to Zika. I know that couples are advised to wait 6 months to TTC if the man was exposed.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What have you done? I would just like to hear people's stories if they have been through the same and also if they have any advice!

Provided you haven't had unprotected sex after your husband went for tests but still within your incubation period, I don't see the problem? He hasn't had Zika, and you no longer have it if you even caught it. I'd assume that they wouldn't be allowed to sell the test if it weren't reliable. I'd be TTC in your position now. Good luck!

So if it's already over three months since the trip you only have to wait another 2 and a bit months to be able to go ahead without this niggling doubt? I really would just wait!

No unprotected sex since before we went away. Still no unprotected sex despite the test results :)

This is our issue - do we continue to wait until the end of the 6 months or do we trust the test and consider TTC next cycle? We have received such mixed advice it's hard to know what's best.

I know 2.5 months isn't much longer to wait. It's just very hard on me when it's our first time TTC and I turn 34 in a few months so i'm just quite anxious about how long this is going to take. I think I'm in a bit of a baby fog and it's stopping me from thinking rationally.

I'd love to hear if anyone has gone through this and what decisions they made!
