Cycles after miscarriage

I had a mc late April and then a lot of problems with random bleeding/positive tests/scans for possible ectopic. It was a tough time! Now I’m not sure where I am in terms of cycles. Just wanted other people’s experiences of when they got back to normal after a mc and ttc x x

First of all I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope your recovery is ok. The key to how your cycles go initially is how fast the hcg leaves your system. Average seems to be 4-6 weeks for first period after miscarriage but mine was 4mths as my hcg dropped really slowly (I was 11 weeks when I miscarried). I found that once I had a negative pregnancy test, my period showed up 2-3 weeks later. My second period was in line with cycle before I got pregnant but with stronger symptoms and heavier flow. I hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply @HidCat. I’m sorry to hear about your experience too. My Hcg levels dropped slower than expected which is why they couldn’t rule out an ectopic. I finally got a negative last week. Never thought I’d be happy to see a bfn but I was relieved. Fingers crossed I’ll get back to normal soon x x

So sorry you have to go through this. I know how bad you feel. I've been through the same situation last week. I had IVF last month. But I lost my baby… It’s so painful!!! It hurts so much. Just don’t hold yourself from crying. Scream if you want to. My best friend is with me on the whole ordeal. Of course DH is a great help too. This is something that you don't wish anybody to deal with… Even to your enemy… It hurts to hear that you are going through this too… Be brave and I hope time and support will help you to overcome the pain.

Thanks @jjjen. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You’re right; it is so painful, but I can’t imagine what you’re going through with ivf too. My best friend had a baby 2 days ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely over the moon for her, but I can’t help but feel equally sad for me. It’s just a tough time in my life x
