Dieting and ttc question

I've recently started doing the 18:6 diet (where you don't eat for 18 hours in every 24). I'm actually sticking to it and seeing results. But... today I realised that fasting might muck up my cycles. Google doesn't really tell me much and what it does say mainly relates to 5:2 which I suppose is a bit more extreme and not as consistent so might have more of an impact on hormones. I've been ttc since January and have slightly irregular cycles already. I don't want to mess my fertility up but equally this diet is actually working for me and I'd like to drop 3 bmi points to be securely in the healthy band, which should in theory help fertility wise!

I asked within the 18:6 thread over on the weight loss boards, but it's not as busy over there. Any thoughts?

Hey - hope you get some positive feedback. I am not dieting because I am too scared to mess up my already irregular cycles even more! Trying to just eat healthily and go to the gym. But if you are regular then it might not be as much of an issue for you?

Its 16:8 not 18:6 - you eat in an 8 hour window. But as long and you’re getting enough calories from healthy sources to run your body each day you should be fine. It’s only extended fasting and extreme weight loss that would alter your cycle.

Thanks both. My cycles are not very regular. And doh! I've been doing 18:6 not 16:8! I'll do the right version and carry on then. Thanks again
