How long to conceive after removing Mirena?

Following on from the "should I have number 4" thread, what are everyone's experiences on conceiving after removing a Mirena? Does AF come immediately and ovulation 14 (or so)days later, or is it a bit more hit and miss than that?

All info gratefully received please

I had my Mirena removed in March 2002 and was PG by July, although that pregnancy only lasted 7 weeks . By Christmas 2002 I was PG again & DS will be 1 on Saturday! HTH!

Not too sure what the average length of time is but my doctor did say (when fitting it) that everything returns to normal almost straight away, none of this 3 months waiting stuff like some other forms of contraception can cause.

thanks both of you.
my doctor may have said the same thing but I wasn't listening - I was definitely not thinking about having anymore then!
