Question for you ladies (and yes, I really should know better). We have two lovely boys and may one day go for number three. Twice this week dh and I have had sex where it has taken us a few minutes to brave the condom i.e. we had unprotected sex and then put a condom on for ejaculation.
Anyone know how likely it is that I am pregnant from this? Anyone got pregnant like this? We are not trying for a baby (and it wouldn't be disastrous if we got pregnant) but I have just checked dates and it was at my most fertile time of the month (day 12/14). Eeek.
I am 34 and should know better!!! (... but how we hate condoms)

unlikely but just about possible as a bit of sperm can leak out before ejaculation. Never heard of anyone who got pg like this. Morning after pill maybe???

It is possible to get pregnant like this. If you do not want to risk pregnancy then try another form of contraception that does not involve condoms. i.e . Mirena coil, ordinary coil, pill, implanon implant.

Dh and I did this a few months ago. Like you, it was during my fertile time (cos that's when I feel like it!) and a week later I was convinced I was pregnant. Had loads of symptoms etc. Anyway I wasn't. As I recall, dh withdrew well before ejaculation but I was sure that some spermies could still escape in the 'pre-cum'. That's what you need to worry about, though some research suggests that it contains no sperm anyway, and it only comes out fairly near to ejac so if you were well away from it then it should be fine. I reckon you will be fine, but clearly there's a very slight chance.

I posted on here about it and got lots of replies from people who have got pregnant this way (see here ) but most of them I think have got really close so increased the chance of little spermies finding their way up to where they weren't intended

Yes, we got pg this way when definitely not planning to.

but isnt it worse to stop before ejaculation to put a condom on? wouldnt it be more spontaneous to put it on at the begining?

yes you are silly
