So basically I got my bfp this morning and this is my first time being pregnant. I have no idea what to do now? My period was due tomorrow so it’s still early days. I’m just not sure what the procedure is about going to the doctors and then having to let work know? Any advice will be greatly received!!!

Everywhere is different. I waited until I was 6 weeks then just self referred to our local midwives, and had my booking appointment at about 10 weeks.
Congratulations!

I was thinking should I wait a little bit before booking in as I’m really not sure what happens next. I actually work in a doctors practice so I could always have a quick chat with a gp and get a bit of advice? See if they recommend making an appointment now or waiting? Thank you 😊

The doctors advice is once your test is positive call the doctors to make an appointment they will confirm the test there and then you need to make an appointment with your midwife for a booking appointment.

@Flamingosnbears depends on your surgery. Both of my surgeries haven't wanted to know and have asked that I book straight in with midwife, they also haven't confirmed my pregnancy.

OP call your GP surgery and ask whether you can book straight in to the midwife, if so get an appointment for around 8 weeks. Other than taking folic acid there's nothing else to do. Lots of pregnancy is very boring and lots of waiting!
