Did you ovulate 1st month off pill?

Just that really!
I have come off my pill 2 weeks ago. If I counted my withdrawal bleed like a proper period I am now on day 10 of my cycle. Thinking of doing an ovulation test from day 11-14 to see if I am ovulating this month, but it it unlikely until I have my first proper period, rather than the withdrawal bleed?

I am in the same boat came off my pill the 19th of May have had a withdrawal bleed and now on cd 13 from the withdrawal bleed I have had two days of flashing smiley faces on the clear blue advance ovulation kit but nothing on the opk strips I have been doing every day since coming off the pill. I'm hopefull maybe I will but I also feel like it's unlikely. Fingers crossed though let me know how you get on x

Liland · 04/06/2018 09:22

I don't think I did - I stopped taking cerelle at New Years and didn't get a bleed until the end of the month. I didn't get a positive OPK or ovulation cramps in January. I definitely ovulated in February though.

Good luck to you both :) Some people do ovulate the first month after the pill, so don't rule it out!

RobynC19 · 04/06/2018 10:54

Thanks I have sort of told my self it won't happen this month so I'm not disappointed later

orchiddaisy · 04/06/2018 22:09

@RobynC19 @Liland thanks for your replies! I'm CD 12 tomorrow since withdrawal bleed so sorta tempted to do an ovulation test for the next few days, even though I think it's unlikely.

I got a clear blue ovulation kit but was gonna save that til next month when I'm more likely to actually ovulate. Rather than wasting it, o got some internet cheapies to try this month but they seem complicated!!

Now on day three of flashy smiley face which isn't filling me with confidence might give it till tomorrow then leave the rest till next month and hope my natural period just comes at 27 days to start again properly next month. I have the cheap internet ones I do them every day I assume they work but I havnt seen a positive one yet x

lapenguin · 05/06/2018 07:02

I'm not sure if I did, but there was only two weeks between the end of my withdrawal bleed and the start of my first period post pill. If you go by that I would have ovulated the day my withdrawal bleed! You may do or you may not, but even if you do it may not be when you think, some people have a five or six or more weeks long cycle after they come off the pill! To stress until that first af comes, but maybe test after a month and once a week until af comes after that? You don't need to have your period to ovulate!

Yes. I got pregnant 3 days after stopping

Addy2 · 05/06/2018 07:07

I never had a period or bleed after coming off mine. Just a positive pregnancy test, but took 7 weeks. So, your guess is as good as mine!

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 07:39

I would just like to know I have ovulated so I know my body is back on track I'm hoping to go back to my pre pill cycles quickly the thought of long cycles worries me

Rose2887 · 05/06/2018 11:56

I came off mine, had a 3 day with drawl bleed straight away and was pregnant two weeks later! Pregnant within a month both times!!!!! Good luck :) x

CherryVicky29 · 05/06/2018 12:00

I ovulated two weeks after stopping my pill, conceived on cycle 3 🙂

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 14:13

Well this makes me feel like maybe I will ovulate CD 14 today so I guess still a few more days it could happen on and my ovulation monitor is saying high

BirthdayKake · 05/06/2018 14:14

Yes, pregnant within two weeks, twice

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 16:36

I want that to happen to me x

Fredthespider · 05/06/2018 18:06

@RobynC19 - I had 6 days of "high" before I got a peak first time, so I'd keep going for a while longer.

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 18:51

Thank you I will keep trying until my natural period, a peak or I run out of tests x

Wellthisunexpected · 05/06/2018 19:03

Yes first time and no second time. Second time I ovulated in month 2.

Rosepetals11 · 05/06/2018 19:28

It took me 2.5 months to get my first period now I’m waiting on my second one and it’s 12 days late!! So annoying

RobynC19 · 06/06/2018 07:52

Day 4 of the flashing smiley face I'm starting to think he looks a bit smug

RobynC19 · 07/06/2018 08:06

I think I'm going to stop testing had 5 days of flashing smiley faces now and my opk tests have even got a tiny bit darker I think I just have to admit I'm not gonna ovulate this month and will have to wait till my first natural period and try again then feeling really down tbh feel like years of birth control and messed up my body HmmCake

Addy2 · 07/06/2018 08:51

Oh, also my midwife told me that she sees lots of women who get pregnant pretty much immediately after stopping the pill. She said it seems to either happen straight away or take quite a few months.

RobynC19 · 07/06/2018 09:43

Feeling crap today I think just wanted it so much to not even be properly trying is a kick in the teeth

Addy2 · 07/06/2018 10:46

@RobynC19, I seriously wouldn't go on for the whole OPK thing straight away, you'll just stress yourself out, which isn't helpful. Just dtd every 3 days or so and enjoy not having to remember a pill. Tell yourself it'll take a few months and if it doesn't you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Addy2 · 07/06/2018 10:48

If you're dtd and have pulled the goalie, so to speak, you are properly trying. People managed for thousands of years prior to OPK tests.

RobynC19 · 07/06/2018 11:16

@Addy2 thanks I have put all the testing stuff away and tbf we have doing the Deed every day if not every other day any way so can't say we will have missed anything if it has happened
