Hi all,

First month TTC first baby... pretty excited Smile is it advised to wait until a missed period? Or does pregnancy sometimes show up sooner?

Also, what do people do in between trying and finding out in terms of cutting out caffeine?

Thanks! :)

Everyone's different. I tend not to get a BFP until I'm at least a week late but some people get one earlier.

I cut out caffeine a year into ttc. It has not helped me get pregnant, but there might be a link to early miscarriage.

I didn’t cut out caffeine when TTC. It was one of my first aversions and tipped me off to the fact I might be pregnant.

I got a bit obsessed with testing my first month, so wouldn’t allow myself to until after my period was late after that.

Any negative tests before your period is due don't tell you anything, so best to wait until it's due but I know that's hard.

I didn't cut down on caffeine until I definitely found out. Although unknowingly I went out and got bladdered the night before I found out I was pregnant with my eldest. Blush

I'd say wait at least until your period is due. I had implantation bleeding with both of mine. Although I didn't realise it was with my eldest, my periods were all over the place around that time. When I had my youngest, I knew pretty much straight away when I stopped bleeding after a day I was pregnant and it showed up on a test that day.

Wait until you’re due/late. That way you’re more likely to get a clear result, rather than these endless posts asking for “line eyes” from people who DTD the night before or their period isn’t due for another week.

I switched to decaf and didn’t notice a difference so went with it!
It’s not necessary to cut it out though, NHS recommendation is 200mg which is 2 cups of instant.
