positive tests after miscarriage - what’s happening

Five weeks ago I miscarried.
No period yet.
Two weeks ago pregnancy test completely negative.
Three days ago I started feeling queasy and pregnant. Did a test yesterday evening just incase, as although I was told to wait one cycle, we haven’t been careful.
Test was faint positive. Thought i must be in early stages of pregnancy again as last test was completely negative.
So did a test this morning, positive but even fainter, which is unusual as when I have been pregnant in the past test lines are always stronger first thing in the morning.
Then One test this afternoon completely negative....
what is happening? Is it that some tests are still picking up small amounts of pregnancy hormone from my miscarriage, and others aren’t. It’s worth saying the test last night and this morning were same brand a cheap one pink dye.
It’s just awful not knowing and I was so excited to think I could have been pregnant again after our loss.

The morning tests are more likely to be correct as your urine is more concentrated and so your HGC levels are higher. I’d say you’re pregnant again but wait a few days and test using first morning urine.

Thanks pottering.
It just seems unusual that the line last night was darker that the one this morning. Then a complete negative this afternoon.
I will test again over the weekend. I know it’s not a long time but it seems foverver.

I miscarried at 5 weeks on 17th April and I’m now 6w+3.
Hope you get your BFP.

This happened to me, I had miscarried and fell pregnant again without a period in between.

Fingers crossed for you x

Thanks you for sharing.
This is what I originally thought that I must be pregnant, but then the tests differing now I’m just thinking is it from the miscarriage hormones still in my system? And that would explain the fleeting feelings of nausea aswell I guess.
Is it possible to have positive tests still from the miscarriage five weeks ago?
I know nothing about this.

How far gone was you when you miscarried?

Ithinkididmagic · 31/05/2018 20:50

Hi guacamole ten weeks, but may have been a mmc lost at an earlier point this was never confirmed.

Was just trying to figure out how high the hormone levels would be but i think they go down pretty quick. I think if you’ve had negatives and then a positive I’d think you’re pregnant again, maybe just very very early and not showing up well yet? Fingers crossed for you anyway, hope it works out

Ithinkididmagic · 31/05/2018 20:59

Thanks guacamole I really would be so happy but I can’t let myself think it or get excited yet.
