Can't quite believe I've just written that title...after a lot of indecision DH and I have decided to see where fate takes us. So we're not obsessively trying, but I know generally when I ovulate so we'll DTD around that time. Tbh we're still not 100% convinced we'd cope with three, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

I've been thinking about it constantly and our ages mean it's now or never. We adore our 2 DC's and if that's what we're meant to have we'll be very happy, but if fate has other ideas, we're up for the challenge!

About to start AF and then off we go Smile

Thanks everyone. I feel ok. We hadn't told anyone, so at least haven't got to make any announcements. Test still says '1-2 weeks', but hopefully will be negative by the weekend. I just want it to be over and start afresh. I think we will keep trying and see how it goes. If it's meant to be it will be. Baby dust to all - we need some good news! x

@LittleTipple have you been to the doctors to have your bloods checked to make sure your levels are dropping as they should? I would maybe consider it if the tests are still reading 1-2 weeks.

I’m glad you are still going to keep trying - it’s important not to loose hope in these horrid situations.

LittleTipple · 08/08/2018 11:50

@UntilTheVeryEnd TBH I was surprised how uninformative and unbothered the GP was. Not my usual doc and when I went in on Monday with brown spotting, he said he'd do a pregnancy test which he did with very diluted urine. It was negative and I was surprised because a couple of days earlier my test was still positive and I hadn't bled at that point. He just said I'm afraid it's negative so the bleeding will increase and you'll have a heavy period. I managed two questions and that was that. I think you're supposed to wait a week before testing again, so I wasn't surprised that my test was still positive. I'll give it until next Monday to go negative, as I'm still bleeding, so guess I've still got some HCG left. All very crap.

I was just checking in and I'm so very sorry to hear it didn't work out @LittleTipple . Thanks

Yuzuko · 09/08/2018 07:54

@LittleTipple - it's not nice to get that attitude from the doc Hmm. Quite insensitive. 💙

Megs87 · 09/08/2018 13:18

So sorry LittleTipple, was just checking back to see how everyone was getting on. Fingers crossed for everyone xx

Megs87 · 09/08/2018 13:24

I have a bag of ic OPKs and a 2 pack FRERs that I won't need anymore. Don't suppose anyone wants them? Just asking for post to be covered xx

BlackRibboner · 09/08/2018 13:51

Ah LittleTipple, I'm so sorry. The doctor/hospital was similarly unsympathetic when I had an early miscarriage a couple of weeks back - there seems to be an attitude of ah well, early days, crack on Angry

Hugs to you - take care of yourself, hopefully the bleeding will stop soon and you can start to move forward xx

UntilTheVeryEnd · 13/08/2018 20:40

@LittleTipple I hope you are ok and taking care of yourself. Flowers Are the tests reading negative now?

I’m really struggling with this mirena limbo malarkey - it’s 4 weeks since removal and I havnt had a period yet... I’ve no idea if/when I ovulated either! I have taken a IC test every fews days thinking I might see a line but nothing!
The last 3 days I have been so nauseous - I’ve even been sick. I started being sick very early with my other pregnancies (my first symptom) is it madness to maybe think I could be? I just wish my period would bloody come if it’s going to!!! This no knowing business is killing me

Baby dust to all trying and testing x

LittleTipple · 13/08/2018 21:29

Hey @UntilTheVeryEnd I'm doing well thank you. I've cried my tears and am now taking an onwards and upwards approach. As I've said before I believe in fate and things happening for a reason, so we'll just see where we end up. Yes, test now negative. 'Not Pregnant' appeared yesterday. I was glad to see it, but equally it was gutting. I feel lucky really, as it happened early and was all over in a week. Trying to look at the positives. I'm worried how long my cycles will take to regulate though. I've started with OPKs today, as normally ovulate CD13. I'm treating first day of miscarriage as CD1, but have no idea if this will work.

What a nightmare, not knowing where you are in your cycle. There is always the possibility of a BFP so don't lose hope. I have also noticed the last few cycles I've been feeling nauseous around ovulation time, so I guess your sickness could just be your body getting back into a rhythm. Fingers crossed for you x

LittleTipple, sorry for your loss. I hope your body recovers fast. I know a couple of people who had early miscarriages, who went on to conceive within a couple of months and the first one just gave birth a month ago and the second one is due in 4 months. I know these stories do not really help when you are feeling down about things, but it does give hope...I hope! Try to stay positive and take care of yourself. Get the rest you need etc. Not sure how easy that is with two kids already :) As mine seem to know when I want a nap and stop playing and come to find me.

I have two dc ages 6 and 4 (almost 5). We have been back and fourth about trying for a third. But I feel like if its still on my mind 4 years on, I should give it a go. We dtd and now the wait. I know I am fertile now. But as my cycles are now 25-28 days, its not always easy to tell. I had the egg whites sign today so I am hoping its not too late. When I conceived my last two it was prior to the egg white showing up. But when I look online apparently when you have egg white discharge, that is supposed to be your most fertile period! So lets see.....

Good luck to everyone. I did not read through the entire thread, as its late.

LittleTipple · 14/08/2018 10:02

Hi @Mamabear12 thank you for the comment on your friends. I've also read similar and it's keeping me going. Think I feel a bit of pressure because we are only going to try until November (due date August '19). My DC1 starts school next September and I don't want to be giving birth at such a crucial time. It will be a massive change and don't think I could cope with three children including a tiny baby and getting into the school routine.

Usually you have EWCM in the run up to ovulation and when it's gone, you've hopefully ovulated. If you've got it now, I'd say you haven't ovulated yet and still fertile. Maybe have another DTD to make doubley sure!

OP posts:
Mamabear12 · 14/08/2018 10:21

In the past, we tried before the EWCM showed up and got pregnant w DC1 and DC2. So I was hoping I was not too late lol. Although, like you said from what I read online its a sign that I am fertile and usually a couple days until egg is released. I have decided to try once and see what happens.

I think try to relax, as feeling pressure might make you feel stressed etc and the best way to get pregnant is when you are relaxed about it. I know that is so hard to do. You have a few months and then you can take a break and try again. Your DC would be settled after a few weeks at school. Although, of course getting everyone ready for school with a newborn would not be easy! My plan is we have an au pair and she will get the older kids ready and take them. As I do not think I could cope. But there are many that do and I am amazed. But perhaps their kids listen when its time to get dresses, brush teeth etc. I have to ask many many times and nag etc. Basically do it for them! Lol. Although, they are at least getting better at dressing themselves. But of course for school I still have to remind them several times!

LittleTipple · 16/08/2018 15:26

How's everyone getting on? I got a flashing smiley OPK today, so fingers crossed I will ovulate this cycle. I'm only one day out from when I usually start to get flashing smiley, so praying that my cycle maybe fairly normal after the miscarriage. Just have to wait and see if I get a static smiley at the weekend.

OP posts:
UntilTheVeryEnd · 16/08/2018 16:25

Yay for flashing smileys @LittleTipple! Crossing fingers that your cycle is back to normal now.

I’m still plodding along... no period... havnt tested again... still a bit nauseous! I hold my hands up and say who knows how I am getting on?

Baby dust to all trying and testing!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 16/08/2018 16:27

@Mamabear12 how do you find life with an au pair? I’ve looked into (not seriously) and worry I couldn’t hack have a youngster in my house. Maybe something you get used to over time?

Mamabear12 · 16/08/2018 18:31

@UntilTheVeryEnd I am not sure if this will alert you when I respond. I am not sure how to do it. Please let me know. Anyway, we got the au pair because our kids are in French Bilingual school and we are not French and don't speak it. The au pair has helped a lot as the kids only speak to her in French. They are fluent age 4 and 6. I think its the luck of who you get, but I have been lucky twice so I thin if you do interviews and ask the right questions and get the right responses its okay. I never get an au pair under 20. Both of mine were 22 when they started. I think that helps...every year and if they have experience with kids and can get a letter from someone they baby sat for. I would not be able to have a third with out an au pair as my husband is leaving before kids wake in morning and home most of the time after they are asleep or at least when my youngest is asleep. So I would not be able to go cope with all three plus a puppy. But with the au pair she helps w the older kids and the dog, so if we have a baby it will be okay. So we have decided to try this month. Now the two week wait....or less as my cycle is 25 days.

I am worried if I do not ovulate though on 25 day cycle? I had no problems to conceive my first two, literally first try both times. But my cycle was 28 days exactly and I was 5 years younger. Now my cycle is 25-28 days so I have no idea. I never tested for ovulation. I always just guessed and day 13 for me seemed to be my lucky number. Although, this month, I am not so sure, as when I read online for 25 day cycle I should have dtd day 11. However, I did not get any EWCM until day 13....so its confusing!

Good luck to all and keep up with the updates. I just ordered online some cheap pregnancy tests so I can start testing 6 days prior to my p :) I know people will say just wait. But part of the fun for me is the testing.

NoseringGirl · 16/08/2018 21:00

@Mamabear12 my cycle is usually around 26 days (though it can vary) but I only have a 10 day luteal phase so when I have a 26 day cycle, I actually ovulate on CD16. So you could maybe be ovulating later than you think?

I'm at the start of cycle 4 now. Last month's cycle was weird but I'm putting that down to the chemical I had the cycle before that and hoping it's not my PCOS causing issues again!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 16/08/2018 21:43

@Mamabear12 thanks! I did get a notification so it reminded me to pop back 😬 we have had a long drive home from a mini break in Scotland today... long time in the car with 2 kids, DH and DFiL... am I mad to add to the bunch... probably but Lewis caroll said “all the best people are” Grin
I think it’s amazing your DC are fluent at such a young age, worth the au pair just for that! Don’t think my DH would agree to one tho - so it would be up to me (Altho he is pretty hands on when he’s home) he works 2/2 away on the rigs.

Crossing fingers for you this cycle. I like testing too, just with cheapies tho, using FRER is too rich for my blood. 5 years older isn’t that much so I’m sure you will catch quick but just think of all the fun you’ll have trying Wink

@NoseringGirl how will you know if your PCOS is flaring up again? Do you get a bunch of symptoms?

NoseringGirl · 16/08/2018 21:49

@UntilTheVeryEnd Mostly that I'll stop ovulating but that will come along with longer cycles that vary a lot more in length with spotting and breakthrough bleeding that can go on for days or even weeks. The last cycle my temps started going up on CD6 and just continued rising until the end which was weird. I got a positive OPK on CD12 and then AF on CD25. So it's possible that I ovulated around CD14 but I'm really not sure if I ovulated at all. AF was a bit lighter than usual (my breakthrough bleeding on anovulatory cycles is usually lighter than when I ovulate) but that could just be because it was a shorter cycle so the lining might be not have thickened much.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 17/08/2018 08:44

That must be really frustrating for you! Is there anything the doctors can do to check if you had an anovulatory cycle? Fingers crossed for the next cycle tho - I’m sure this month was just a flook.

Mamabear12 · 17/08/2018 13:12

@UntilTheVeryEnd I think def go for an au pair! If your husband is not sure, you can get a summer au pair for example for one or two months. Or during the year you can always find au pair willing to come for a month or as you need. I did a summer au pair first because my husband was not sure. After that he was happy to get another au pair.

@NoseringGirl I had to google what luteal phase was, but yea that could be it for me? Maybe I just have a shorter one? I read some more online about shorter cycles and it got me worried if I did not ovulate or not enough progesterone etc. Note to self - stop researching online!

Wingingit3211 · 17/08/2018 18:41

We are still plodding along. Last cycle was like 49 days . Currently on cd 15, doesn’t mean that much really. Just trying to have regular sex and hope for the best!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 18/08/2018 07:50

So.... this happened this morning... still quite feint so will be picking up a FRER today! A bit in shock really as I didn’t expect anything so soon. You think that’s my BFP? Shock

Anyone else trying for DC3?!
Mamabear12 · 18/08/2018 13:08

@UntilTheVeryEnd exciting news! Congratulations. How many days are you post ovulation?
