Hi,
My partner has 4 kids from previous partners which he pays £350 a month for. I would really like a child of our own and we have spoke about trying for one. My main worry is money. Our mortgage and bills add up to £1000 a month not including food. I would like to work part time once the child was born but don’t know how we could cope with the cut in my wages as I earn more than my partner. Any help or ideas? Don’t think we would get any benefits help.

It's a tough thing but you just have to be realistic and talk together to see what is feasible for you. What cuts can you make? Can you start saving anything now in preparation? What maternity package would you get? How long would you have off?
Being a parent is a whole world of sacrifice. I'd love to work part time, but we can't afford it so I don't. It's a sacrifice we've had to make.

Have you looked into shared parental leave? You can share 50 weeks of leave between you after a baby, might work out better for you to get back to work if you are the higher earner.
