Hi, we have decided to try for baby number 3 and have been TTC for 2 months. I'm not expecting it to be easy due to my age, being almost 40, but there are a number of big events next year, weddings and holidays abroad.

I don't really want to be giving birth on the wedding days or to be heavily pregnant for the holidays as I get really uncomfortable in the later stages.

Should I risk stopping TTC in the months that would likely coincide with these dates. Taking 4-6 months away. Or just keep TTC and hope for the best. I have also had a MMC so that worries me aswell. I can hear my biological clock ticking 🙁

Depends on how much you want a baby. Honestly, if you don’t want a baby clashing with things like holidays and weddings then maybe you should rethink ttc. Most people wouldn’t care about social events as long as they have a baby.

Sorry I meant that I didn't want to be giving birth during my brother's wedding.

I am trying to weigh up my age Vs likelyhood of conception if I discount certain times Vs chances of giving birth on a specific day.

I have waited 3 years for my partner to decide he actually does want another so the question of 'do I actually want a baby?' is not an issue. Taking a baby along to any event is no problem whatsoever it's the stage of pregnancy at the times of the events I'm considering. But yes I comply see your point

@Caddi I’d keep going and see for the best. I’m 38 (39 soon) and have been ttc #4 since last summer. We did miss a cycle last autumn in order not to be due the date of a holiday (it’s uk so would’ve gone heavily pregnant or with a newborn but wanted to avoid clashing with 42weeks as I’ve been late for all of mine) I’ve had one early loss last month but no luck at getting and staying pregnant so far.

I guess I would just ttc and hope for the best to be honest, it took6 years to agree to ttc #4 so I do understand that.

@Caddi I was very like you and similar age, I really wanted kids, he wanted to wait, we had plans then started TTC after. Now we've been trying for 3 months and I really wish we'd started earlier as I'm scared as to how long it will take. It might be fine, it might not, depends on whether you're willing to risk it or not. I'm really glad we had our lovely holidays but still a bit scared I've left it too late.
