Can I read this as a positive OPK?

Being doing them twice a day this month, as last month never got a line darker than the control line. In this pic 2nd from fat right is yesterday evenings and far right one is this morning Fmu. The line is definitely the darkest it has been but it is still not darker than the control line, and packet says it should be as dark or darker to be a positive....

FWIW I am day 14 of a 28 day cycle...

Also I had a LH/FSH blood test done on day 2 of my cycle this month that was within normal limits. (Both around 9 iirc).

If I continue to do them and the line fades and today's is the strongest, can I assume safely I am ovulating, or do I need to see a very strong line? Or is there any difference in quality between brands and should I try some different kits?

I am getting a 21 day progesterone done this month so I guess that will tell me more... but would be nice to know exactly when it's happening for dtd purposes! (Dp works away a lot)

I reckon you'll get your positive in the next 24 hours, keep testing!

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 20/05/2018 14:23

Thanks. Just got this one this afternoon, I'm taking that as a positive - problem is dp is going away at 3pm so looks like I'm going to have to pounce on him before he leaves and hope that is good enough! 😂

Haha hope you manage(d)!!

Also, if I'm getting my LH surge on day 14, does this mean I'm not ovulating until day 15/16?

Is it embarrassing that yes I did and it is all over and done with?! 😂😂 Well it is ttc sex after all, functional and to the point! 😂😳

I think I have been ovulatung much later than I thought and that's where we may have been going wrong...

I'd say yes, likely to ovulate tomorrow or day after. Keep busy in the bedroom as much as poss for the next couple of days

Blondemother · 20/05/2018 15:07

I think the ‘average’ time from LH surge to ovulation is 36 hours, but it can be shorter or longer (12-46 hours).
So if you catch a surge on day 14, ovulation could be day 15 or 16.

I think you can get a clearer picture by temping and charting, if you’re up for the extra faff!

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 20/05/2018 15:55

I am temping too and using an app - can't keep busy in the bedroom as dp has now gone overseas to work.. 🤦‍♀️

It's better to have sperm waiting for the egg, so your timing is perfect.

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 20/05/2018 18:08

Sorry if tmi, but felt especially frisky and lots of ewcm yesterday, so felt like my body was telling me yesterday was a good day, we last dtd yesterday. Fingers crossed!🤞

Hehe, lock the door and hide the keys in your knickers! ;-)

Blondemother · 20/05/2018 18:21

Sounds like you’re covered then, fingers crossed!
